NCh. Black Warrior – Castleonacloud
Castleonacloud uncrossed her legs a day early to deliver this lovely Black Warrior filly. Castleonacloud hit the board in 7 of 10 starts before being retired far too early (all as a 4yo), so it’s hard to tell how she could have been on the track. To add to it, her oldest foal, now 3, has never raced, so she’s unproven as a broodmare. After a quick Google search, I discovered Castle on a Cloud was a song from Les Miserables, so we picked Wedding Chorale, another song, for the name! Wedding Chorale looks like a darker version of her mom – with the single ermine on the opposite front leg. Castleonacloud has been sent to French Ruby for 2018.

Empire Maker – Cherry Cheesecake, by Distinct Possibili (S)
This is Cherry Cheesecake’s first foal, and he was a bit of a shock given dad is bay and mom is strawberry roan. He’s pure black without a single speck of white. With both parents unproven, and Cherry Cheesecake’s only breed-age sister unproven, it’s hard to tell how he’ll turn out. I was just happy to finally get a colt! Cherry Cheesecake has been sent to Take Me Away for 2018.

Jazzify decided she’d had enough and foaled almost a week early. Named after one of my favorite Nightwish songs, Song of Myself is a half-sister to SP Ch. A.P. Goodyear. Jazzify has been sent home to French Ruby for 2018.

Foaled 3 days early, Bluejay is Blues Baby’s second foal. Blues Baby is a half-sister to MSW’s GCh. Glory Halleluia and GCh. National Anthem. Joy’s first crop won’t race until next year, so who knows how he’ll be once he’s older! Blues Baby has been sent to French Ruby for 2018.

Carouser arrived nearly a week early! He’s a half-brother to SW Ch. Notable Dancer. Bellagio’s oldest crop just turned 4, but he’s only had 12 runners (with a promising 5 winners and 1 stakes winners), so I’m hoping Bellagio’s true potential as a sire will come out once his larger crops start hitting the track. Choreographer has been sent to Joyeux Oiseau and will be placed in the Black Storm Auction later this month.

My first victim of the funny horse name randomizer, haha. Whispering Embers held on an extra five days before delivering this big TMTH foal. Whisper was a pretty consistent runner from 3-5 and a G1 winner at 5; this is her third foal. She’s been sent to Joyeux for 2018.

Government Secret (B), Ch. Legendary Lady (S), GCh. Ladylove (G), and Lady Barton (S). My Lady’s Princess has been sent to Drum Major for 2018.
