I’m really excited for this filly, mostly because she’s out of my favorite mare - she looks a lot like her, too. Sedaka’s first foal on the track hasn’t been so hot, but I’m just assuming she’s a late bloomer. 
Sedaka herself was no slouch on the track and had her best year as a four year old. Dark Continent had his best years at three and four as well. Both of them were pretty small, and Lilacs is definintely the tiniest foal of the crop. She’s named after the visual illusion, just because I think it’s kind of an adorable name.

I’m super pleased with this filly! Aside from being born on my birthday she’s out of one of my favorite mares and is grey, my favorite color. 
Was having trouble coming up with a name but I think this one is growing on me.

Sneak Peek was steeplechase horse of the year and Burbs was super consistent steeplechaser. A moonraker is a colloquial term for people from Wiltshire, England. It’s on a smuggler’s route and the story goes that barrels of French brandy were hidden in a pond. Customs officers saw men trying to rake something in the pond and the smugglers explained they were just trying to rake in the cheese wheel in the pond (which was the moon). The officers left them to their ways and the smugglers continued raking in their “cheese.”
