So, who did you walk away with?
First up, Carbon Copy, an 11yo broodmare by Cross Roads (S) out of Unknown Powers (S). She was MSP on the track, and is 1/2 sister to SWs Pentecost and Unknown Laird and SP McTaggert and War Powers.
Her foals include MSWs Sixth Day (qualified stallion by Planet Hollywood) and Curunda (4yo mare by Crystal Rainbow).
She’s in foal to Count Me In for 2016, and we own NO relatives from her female family.
We also had to pick up 2yo daughter Apprintice, by Candidate (S). She won her debut race, and we have high hopes for her future.
Not to be greedy, but we snatched up yearling daughter Original Copy by Lasting Spirit (B). We don’t have any yearling LS foals, and we wanted another shiny baby.
All told - $1.837 million for those 3. Ouch.
We were also excited to snatch up 8yo broodmare Spell Breaker, by Highland Wizard (S) out of Cross My Heart (G). She and her dam were MSWs and millionaires on the track. Her first foal is a 2yo by Crystal Rainbow, already placed in one start. She’s in foal to What’s Your Point for 2016.
Because we love Spectacular Bid and War Admiral, we had to take home SpectacularDiamond, 4yo MSW multi-millionaire who took home 3yo Filly of the Year honours last year. We’re hoping to race her at least another year before seeing what her babies can do.
Last but not least, we grabbed two daughters of Get the Point. Point The Finger is a big 2yo filly by Jazz It Up, a sire we love, and is already multi-placed in 2 starts this year.
Beside The Point is her weanling sister by i’m Your Angel (B). We don’t have any of his foals, so we were glad to pick up this cute filly for a (relatively) low price.
We were outbid on Jester’s Crown, a yearling Foolhardy filly out of Crowning Glory. Best of luck to Cricket Hill with her.
Just over $3mil spent total. Drew had some really nice stock, and my hoarding instincts kicked in.
