MSF Dispersals - How'd you do?

I’m still waiting on the bidding for one filly, but I’m thrilled with the 4 I’ve brought home already.

[color=red]Three Ballads is a 3yo filly by Cryptic Ballad out of Three of Crowns (MSW mare). She’s the first foal from either parent, but both did well on the track so we’re excited to see what she can do. We picked her up for $70,500.

[color=blue]Crown Wish is her 2yo half-brother by As You Wish. We hardly need any more babies to race, but liked the look of this guy so were happy to take him home for $75,500.

[color=red]Chasingromance is a 3yo daughter of Gunningdownromance and Chase The Wind (gold ranked). She’s half-sister to MSW Be Cool (by Point Given), and her 4yo half-brother by Highland Pride is a winner with limited starts. We mainly picked her up because we now own Gunningdownromance, but her bloodlines are unique as well (for our barn). She cost us $55,500.

[color=red]Glorious Romance is a 2yo daughter of Gunningdownromance and Glorious (gold ranked). She’s half-sister to MSWs Overweening (by Highland Pride) and Fabulously High (by High Chances). We’re excited to see what she can do later this year. She’s our most expensive pony (so far) at $118,000.

We bid (but ultimately passed) on [color=red]SecretOfTheNight, whose price has skyrocketed. I quite liked Love Secret’s bloodlines so wouldn’t mind owning her only filly, but her price got a bit rich. Best of luck to whomever ends up with her in the end.

Lost out on all of mine, very annoyed about Arctic Sister

Nothing here either… it seems that my little string is already quite good if I wasn’t interested in cheaper horses
I was bidding on [color=blue]Blu Times (sold to Krajina for $80,500) and [color=red]Wild Irish Rose, gorgeous filly linebred for Highland Rogue (current highest bid is $200,500). Marshall Creek Ranch and Clover Springs Stables also tried to get the filly, but currently both are taken by Krajina.
Oh well. Morning Star had some really good ponies!

Looks like we got the last one we went for. [color=red]Crystal Romance is a 2yo daughter of Gunningdownromance and Crystal Princess. She’s half-sister to MSW Royal Success and SP Chroniton, and 3/4 sister to SW Swarovski. We’re pleased to welcome her to the barn for $90,500.

And that should be us done for this auction. Don’t need any more ponies…really…

I really can’t afford to spend with the way my horses have been running but I got in right when it opened and managed to get the one I wanted and an additional one and only spent $11,500.

[color=red]High Darling is a chestnut filly by High Chances out of Darling Diplomat who was MSW/msp. I love HC so when I saw this filly I had to have her, I’ve had good luck with his foals, they are fairly consistent. Got her for $10,500

[color=red]Raptor Romance is a bay by Gunningdownromance out of Aquilla a silver ranked mare, I remember her racing, she didn’t spend a whole lot of time on the track but so far has produced 11 racers ,10 winners,MSW/msp.  This was her last foal I noticed on her page she is deceased.  I just liked the look of this girl and didn’t think I would get her let alone for only $1,000

Lost out on 2 others because of my limited budget, hoping my 2 yr olds tear up the track this spring and refill my coffers!

I forgot it was on and missed a few I’d picked out  ::)

We took home two, got bid out on a few of the ones we wanted… Good luck Shanti with Crystal Romance and good luck Cricket Hill with Cleopatra’s Demand!

[color=red]Ch. Be Cool - This 5yo mare hasn’t run in a few years so we entered her in an upcoming race and put her back on a fitness routine just for curiosity sake! It really will be interesting to see what a few years (literally) does to a racehorse. She is by Point Given and out of Chase The Wind (G). Even if she no longer has what it takes to run well, she has great lineage and a great track record so she has the potential to be an awesome broodmare. Purchase Price - $55,500

[color=blue]Another Nobody - This 2yo colt is out of NCh. Void (B) and by Ch. Crayons Anonymous. Void only has 6 foals running so I don’t think his bronze rating shows his potential. Void is out of Planet Hollywood who was a phenomenal stallion and is a stallion that I have very few foals from. Crayon was a good solid runner who is currently unproven as a broodmare. I’m excited to see this boy run, and to see how Void’s foals do on the track. Purchase Price - $5,500

After being outbid on 4 horses whom we liked but didn’t really have our hearts set on we decided what the heck and went for [color=red]SecretOfTheNight. She is a 2yo filly by the hot WCh. Nightfight and is out of gold rated Love Secret. Love Secret is the dam of foals to have raced including MSW Ch. Commitments, winner Snoggin and placed Secret Ballad all of whom have shown precocity and have been extremely lightly raced.

We figured SecretOfTheNight would be going for some insane price and I figured I’d pass seeing as I don’t feel spending that much on an unproven 2yo is crazy but figured what the heck, I’ve got the money why not?! Granted my accountant is now horrified and hasn’t spoken to me since the gavel went down at $600,500. With her pedigree she should earn that pricetag back but we all know to expect the unexpected. Oh well, I haven’t put down this amount of money on a horse like this in awhile, we’ll see how it goes! Worse comes to worse she’ll be a nice broodmare!

Was in the battle for SecretOfTheNight for a while, but decided instead to snag 2yo filly [color=red]Wild Irish Rose.

Sire is GCh. Highland Laird (S) and shockingly I am lacking army laird members in my barn so I knew she would be a perfect edition. Her dam GCh. Raindrops On Roses has produced a winner so far with her first foal Rainedonmyromance. From the lines of Rogue’s Lily (G) who is the dam of MSW WCh. Noteasybeingreen, GCh. Fanfare, Ch. Black Roses and NCh. Bay of Biscay and quite a few other winners.

Congrats, Lindsay! That was a battle indeed

The ones I liked quickly moved out of my price range, so I decided to sit on my hands and save some cash for the 2yo auction. Congrats on everyone’s new horses!

Secured at least one from the MSF mare dispersal. For the princeley sum of $1000 the newest addition to the GB herd is [color=red]Dance For Me, a silver ranked daughter of False Promises and the RDC mare Dance At Dawn, making her a half-sibling to the MSW, MSP Worth My Time and Kichiro. She has produced one GCh runner and all the others to race so far are winners with the exception of one (broken leg on only racecourse start). We already own her daughter Peep Show who ran well at the lower allowance levels for us last year. She’s been booked in to see I’m A Classic.

Now, I really should report this as a bug but just had to share. On checking the mare had settled in ok we realised there’d been a stow away on the journey home  :astonished:. Somehow, Dance For Me’s 5yo son Multiplicity came too . He was already retired and not in auction for private sale so I don’t know how it happened but there he is eating our hay looking like butter wouldn’t melt  ::). As he’s retired and not going to cost us anything he can stay provided Shanthi has no objections

I’m amazed you got her for only 1k, congrats!

Hm, I have no idea how that happened. :frowning: I’ll check the code, though.

Reported in via the bug page as I’ve just won another mare and two yearlings have appeard as well :frowning:

Was going to count my chickens before they hatched. Now I’ve got to wait another 14 hours.  Sigh.

Me too! Boo.

Stuff just got real in the mare auction! :astonished:

You start outbidding me literally in the 11th hour when I’m already counting the horses as mine, I get real serious.  >:D

I forgot about it, I have one late bid in.

I forgot about the auction haha!
