First, I got [color=red]Stealthily (Conspiracy Theory (S) - Trust Me (S)), the only mare that was in foal for 2016, which seemed to go unnoticed for a long time. She’s due 3/9/16, and I wanted her only in foal, which added some extra adrenaline
The baby will have quite unique pedigree, as Stealthily’s sire had only 8 foals, but many of them ran really well. Dad will be ICh. Gunningdownromance (S) which adds What’s It Worth (G) to the mix. Now let’s hope that the foal will arrive safe and healthy
The other mares I thought will be taken away at some point, because my bids on them were low, but I got all three for $1,000 each.
[color=red]Beautiful Distrctn (Easy Street (B) - Runaround (S)). Her dad is silver ranked as a broodmare sire. She has a speed record 10.0 furlongs on dirt, and 6 foals which gave her bronze rank (100% of racers are winners). We decided to experiment with linebreeding for Alydar (I), so she will be bred to ICh. Alley Cat. I’m not a big fan of him, but it seems that his babies are just late bloomers. Alley Cat adds some Highland Rogue (I/C), and this mare already has a talented daughter with Rogue blood.
[color=red]Miss Kitty II (Hellcat (S) - Tarheel Sugar (B)). What a surprise! She’s the mother of our mare [color=red]Pussycat Doll, which we got from Railbird. We bred Pussycat Doll to NCh. Slew O’Scots (S), and Miss Kitty II will be bred to ICh. Almost Precious, because Almost Home (B) seems to give her foals some talent.
[color=red]Cure My Blues (Mr. Prospector (S) - Rhythm n’ Blues (S)). Bronze ranked mares who seems to have lazy foals, as they do not race very often. So we’ll breed her to ICh. Take Me Away who had 77(65) starts in his career. Also for the wordplay with “take me away” and “cure my blues”
I went in to the mare auction wanting two. Then I got two. Yay! Then Jason outbid us on those two at the last minute, so I went a little nuts.
It cost over 3x as much as my original amounts for the two, but I came home with 4 nice mares.
[color=red]Three of Crowns (Danzig x Amazon Princess) is the one mare I really wanted back. I bred her, then sold her, and now I own her again - yay! She’s a MSW millionaire on the track, and her oldest baby (that I bought earlier) will be debuting soon. I own her older half sister (Crimson Princess, by Crimson Lad), who has had some really nice foals. Three of Crowns should make a lovely replacement for her when she’s ready to retire as well. She cost me $751,000.
[color=red]Raindrops on Roses (Point Given x Rogue’s Lilly) was the other mare I wanted. I’ve always liked her dam, and almost all my Point Given horses are colts. Her oldest foal won his debut at 2 last year, so I’m hopeful her foals do well. She cost me $751,000.
[color=red]Chase The Wind (Red Wind x Arcane Maiden) was one I originally wanted but ruled out in order to keep my horse acquisition habit in check. But then, like I said, I went a little nuts, so I figured I’d splurge. I don’t have anyone related to her at all in the barn, and she’s got some nice foals already, so she’ll be a keeper. She came home for $300,500.
[color=red]Darling Diplomat (Diplomat x Call Me Darlin’) was a pure “road rage” sort of bid since I hadn’t even looked at her before, but hey, she’s a MSW and has rare bloodlines (for my barn). I couldn’t let her go for only $15k. At least she only cost me $50,500.
The amount of money some of you all have to throw around is incredible!
Needless to say, both auctions quickly went above & beyond what I could reasonably justify at the moment.
I did manage to bring one lovely lady home - [color=red]Ch. COSMOPOLITAN, by A.P. Indy. She is a stakes winner, and multi-stakes placed. She’s only had one baby so far, so we’ll see how he turns out. But I was looking through my barn the other day and realized I had no Indy daughters anywhere in the lineup. So I couldn’t resist putting in a bid for a stakes winning one… Now to figure out a boyfriend for the year…
Got outbid on the ponies I wanted most, but I hung in there for as long as I could!
Walked away with some unusual lines, which is always good.
Ch. Spirit Away (Whirlaway (S) x Easy Miracle(S)) is a MSW. Her only foal to run was a winner in her first and only start, so I’m optimistic about her breeding potential. At one point, I owned a distant cousin of hers that I sold, so I’m glad to have Miracle lines back in my breeding shed. She was a steal at $76k.
Ch. Ghost Your Good (Ghost I’m Good (S) x Fondly Yours (S)) is silver-rated and a SW in her own right. She’s thrown three SP ponies and, more recently, a SW (Ch. Saw A Ghost). Her sire only had 8 foals total, so we’re really happy to have her in our barn. She joins other rare-line (for us) daughters of Black Knight (19 foals), Forget It (19 foals), Land Ho (17 foals), Captain Jack (13 foals), and MakeMineManhattan (8 foals). Snagged her for a hair over $125k.
Managed to add three more ponies that I don’t really need but they are pretty
[color=red]Ch Pleasure Cruise is a 2004 created mare who won two stakes races, the ungraded Lincoln Handicap and the Gr 1 Highland Raven Breeders Stakes. A bit of a late bloomer she’s a lovely big stawberry roan with ‘‘that’’ star as Hilda calls it. She has one runner to date who’s MW, MP. She’s been sent to Joyeux Oiseau in the hope we might get a decent turf runner. Cost $1000.
[color=red]Don’t Let Go (Affirmed ex Don’t Give Up) adds some new lines to the barn and I only bid on her as she was the only one not attracting any interest. She was stakes placed at Gr 3 and set a speed record on turf. Her oldest runner is a 2yo. She has a date with Unabridged. Cost $1000.
Most expensive purchase at $45,500 was [color=red]Jupiter who was significantly more than I intended to pay. However, she becomes the only Planet Hollywood mare in the barn and her only runner to date is a winner of three of her four starts. Looking at the new breed rankings that would put her on a Gold ranking so hopefully the extra money spent will be worth it. Still deciding on where she heads next.
Well even though I got in late I managed to snag one for $45,500 more than I should have spent but you know how it goes, lol.
[color=red]Chancy Incantation - 2009 bay
By-NCh. Highland Wizard (S) (What’s It Worth (G) x Highland Sorceress (G) )
Out of-Ch. Chance For Slew (B) (Northern Slew (B) x American Chance (S))
Her sire needs no intro with 11 Crops,146 Foals, 93 Racers, 82 Winners, 36 Stakes Winners, 14 M. Stakes Winners 10 Millionaires, $389,655 Ave. Earnings. Her dam Has 10 Foals,8 Racers,7 Winnesr,1 Stakes Winner, will be interesting to see how she does
She has just one foal on the ground, so she has no ranking yet, but at age 7 she has plenty of time, I really found the worth/slew cross interesting and I plan on breeding her to Irish Gold.
She is 1/2 to ch Heaven Lee and 3/4 to ch Judy Garland
She was lightly raced with a Record of Lifetime 15-2/1/5/2 $39,550 34
Well the latest auction the ponies I wanted quickly went out of price range, and my second choices are going a little high too. After the fiasco of the last few times I’ve spent a lot on young horses just to lose money, I am not paying a lot for a baby. Good luck to those still in it to win it! Lol
Woo, we got our last baby to complete our “collection”.
We’re proud to introduce [color=blue]Triple Threat, a yearling son of A.P. Indy and Three of Crowns. Three of his 4 grandparents are silver/gold ranked in-game, so the name seemed to fit. His big sister, [color=red]Three Ballads (by Cryptic Ballad) debuts on Saturday. We’re super happy to have this mare and all her babies in the barn.
And since we were browsing while clicking refresh to see if the bid would go through, we spotted a couple of fillies who look interesting. Time will tell if we get them, and if they’re worth it.
[color=blue]Another Nobody (NCh. Void (B) x Ch. Crayon’s Anonymous) was purchased for $5,500. I have a feeling Void is going to really start rocking it as a stallion so i’ve been picking up his foals lately. Not sure why I think that, hopefully my gut feeling is right . Crayon’s Anonymous is unproven as a breeding mare, hopefully this boy can do both his folks proud!
[color=red]Beauty Affirmed (Affirmed (S) x Rise and Shine (S) ) was purchased for $45,500. She’s a lovely broodmare with bloodlines that I do not yet have in my broodmare pool. She is silver (4. rated having produced SW Ch.Succubus. She has been sent for a breeding with What’s Your Point.
[color=red]Be Cool (Point Given (S) x Ch. Chase The Wind (S) ) was purchased for $55,500. She is a 5yo racehorse who had over a year break from the track. When she was regularly running she ran very well, I tried her in a race recently and she bombed so may be time to breed her (which was my intention when I purchased her anyways). I love her bloodlines, Point Given is one of my favourite sires and Chase The Wind ran really well on the track, has produced some nice foals and is out of Red Wind (S) which is a pretty rare bloodline to have
There were others I really like but they quickly were out of my price range
So far we managed to get one for $7k a cute colt standing 13.1, he’s just a yr old but is only supposed to hit 15.3.
[color=blue]Dream Walker A Bay with a star and snip
The name is from a series of sic-fi books I read, in it they are able to project themselves into dreams and seek out other dream walkers.
By-ICh. Gunningdownromance (S) (What’s It Worth § x Seek For Love §)
Out of-Gone North (B) (Northern Slew (B) x GCh. Dream Skipper (G))
With these bloodlines I had to nave him, with a platinum grandsire and granddam, and another gold granddam, I’m hoping he inherited some of the talent. Of course everyone knows the worth line is a moneymaker, and with the slew line I’m hoping to have a monster runner here.
I managed to snag a second one A yearling Filly she’s only 13.3 right now but is supposed to top out at 16.1h.
[color=red]Color My World -a mahogany bay filly with just a star and snip (looks like dad!)
By-GCh. Starzen (B) (Black Legend (S) x Seeing Starz §)
Out of-Ch. Crayons Annonymous (Cross Roads (S) x Play Time (S))
With her pedigree I couldn’t pass her up, I love starzen as a stud and cross roads is a favorite and to have them both in one horse, I had to have her!
So we ended up getting our two impulse fillies. We really don’t need any more babies, since we already had 59.
At any rate, we’re happy to introduce [color=red]Brightest Angel, a yearling daughter of Holy Bull and Devil’s Wench (B). She’s half-sister to two MSWs (Golden Fiddle, by False Promises; and Archaic Temptress, by Romeo). We don’t have any similarly bred horses in the barn, so we’re hoping for good things from this girl. She cost us $25,500.
Our other new pony is [color=red]Such A Gem, a yearling daughter of Rock of Gibraltar and Darling Diplomat. Darling Diplomat was MSW on the track, and her oldest foal will start this year. We weren’t going to bid on her since we bought her mom, but hey, why not. She cost us $14,000.
Was hoping to get maybe one or two, came home with four. Next mission is no more ponies between now and the mixed auction and see if I can stick to that. >:D
Stupid iPad this is the third time I’ve typed this… I own Wench now and can’t wait to get her babies racing , good luck with yours Shanthi.
I managed to snag a 3rd and final yearling another colt, he’s by starzen on the small side but he’s only supposed to top out at 15.2.
He is 1/2 to Ch.Ghostbuster, and Ch Saw A Ghost, and same sire - Ch Danzin On A Star( whom I bred and raced) ,& Ch Serius Legend.

[color=blue]GhostintheDarkness-a liver chestnut ,yearling, 13.1h, with a Star, snip, RF Sock, RH Sock, LH Sock
By-GCh. Starzen (B) (Black Legend (S) x Seeing Starz §)
Out of-Ch. Ghost Your Good (B) (Ghost I’m Good (S) x Fondly Yours (B))
His sire has produced a lot of winners and a few MSW/MSP horses, I have one of his I bred and raced to Ch. I’ve also had good luck with the platinum Seeing Starz bloodline!
His dam was a nice runner and has produced almost all winners, including 2 Champions. I’m hoping with these lines to have a good solid runner with this guy.
Walked away with three of the four I wanted, but had to pay for the privilege.
Roguish (Highland Laird x Glorious (G)) is 1/2 to our MSW Fabulously High and 3/4 to Ch. Overweening. We tried to snag his dam, but got outbid. Really excited about this guy.
Wild Goose Chase (AP indy x GCh. Raindrops on Roses (S)) Only foal to race is a winner in his only start. Dam is a MSW and multi-Gr.1 placed. Really excited to see what this one will do.
Flower Power (ICh. Gunningdownromance x NCh. Frozen Forest) 2nd foal of MSW dam by a promising young sire. Plus, a filly. =)
