Kentucky Derby/Triple Crown Contests

I meant to post this about a

week ago, but now’s as good a time as any.

Final Furlong will be holding 2 contests: one

for the Kentucky Derby and one for the [b]Triple

Crown[/b]

Note: All prizes are FF money, so to win a prize, you must be an

active member of FF.

For the Kentucky Derby, there will be 2

options (you may complete one/both):

  1. Pick the winner of the Kentucky Derby (optional:

also pick the winning margin). For everone who correctly picks the winner, you will receive

$10,000. If you pick the correct winner and the correct margin, you will receive

$50,000.
2. Pick the entire Kentucky Derby finish order. Anyone who correctly

identifies the full order of finish will receive $5,000,000.

For the

Triple Crown, there will also be 2 options (you may complete

one/both):

  1. Pick the winner(s) of each of the TC races: Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes,

Belmont Stakes. Anyone who correctly picks the winner(s) will receive $100,000.
2.

Pick the top 3 finishers (in correct order) of each of the TC races: Kentucky Derby,

Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes. Anyone who correctly picks the top 9 horses (top 3 in each

race) will receive $1,000,000.

Picks must be posted here by noon EST on Saturday, May

7 (Derby day) to qualify.

For the Triple Crown contest, if any of your pick(s) get

scratched or otherwise do not run, you will have 24 hours from the notice of retirement (on

BloodHorse/DRF websites) to alter your choices for any future race(s).

and start by saying…I’m a lousy handicapper, plain and simple.

Afleet Alex. Although I also like High Fly a lot, my ‘gut feeling’ goes for Afleet Alex.

And as nice as Bellamy Road is, I never vote favorites.

I’m going out on a limb and

picking a Greater Good for the derby. Dunno why, i just really like everything i’ve read

about this colt. He had a bad run in the Arkansas Derby, and he’s looking to make up for

it.
