Nice
Love the name.
Ok, I think the FF gods are messing with me this year…
We had our first stillbirth. A filly (of course) from our mare, Je Suis Prest (created), by Dixie Time. Our current goal was to sell Je Suis Prest, as this would have been our 5th foal from her. We just sold her 4yo colt, Imprimis, who has an unusually high percentage of OTB finishes, but we own all the others. She may still pop up on the sale forum as originally intended.
But we do have 3 live foals to report. All colts.
OLD SPORT - 8.3hh dark bay colt
SIRE: Empire Maker (Unbridled {B} x created)
DAM: Ch. Kiasport (created)
I couldn’t resist the name, which I picture being spoken in a very aristocratic British accent…ha. He’s from his sire’s first crop, which I’m unsure about, given the Unbridled connection. Mom, however, was a SW at 2. Her first foal, Sportsmanship, will hit the tracks this spring. I’m very curious to see how he gets on.
KIASPORT is visiting In The Navy this year.
BRAVISSIMO - 9.1hh liver chestnut colt
SIRE: GCh. Latino Mix (created)
DAM: Bravodora (created)
Bravissimo is Italian for “great approval, especially of a performance”, and I’m hoping that we might someday be able to scream out his name and mean it. Dad had SWs on dirt and over hurdles, while mom was a late bloomer who excelled at hurdles, with a G3 stakes win and 3 speed records. I expect that this boy will do well over hurdles, but I’m hoping that dad’s influence will help him over the flat first. Her first foal hits the track this spring - Vive le Roi.
BRAVODORA’s is visiting Worth The Wait for our first foal of his.
BLINDSIDED - 9.3hh flea-bitten grey colt
SIRE: ICh. Belanso (created)
DAM: Running Blind {B} (Unbridled {B} x Blind Justice {S})
I’m excited to see this tall, colorful colt, because this colt is a giant question mark. He’s from his sire’s first crop, though he did exceptionally well on the track. This is also the first foal we’ve bred from the dam, who seems to throw late-maturing foals. All of her 4yo and up foals are winners, while the 3yo appears to just be coming into her own. The two year old is owned by FF. The only reason I added this mare to my brood band was an entirely superficial one - despite his bronze ranking in FF, I wanted an Unbridled connection, and I’m hoping her dam’s silver ranking helps to elevate her abilities in the shed (since she never raced).
RUNNING BLIND is coming to see our boy, Witness.
Also, leased out mare, Alyglamour, delivered a healthy - you guessed it! - filly for her leaser. She is now on her way to visit Highland Burning, since she’s down in Australia now. Her original booking (to Sleipnir) is transferring to one of our soon-to-be-retired mares.

Nice foals! And Blindsided looks great with four stockings.
Love the names Blindsided and Bravissimo!
Love Flamethrower
Lo and behold, ANOTHER boy!
And we are now at an official 4:1 colt to filly ratio. I think my ponies are turning this into a stable competition, although I would admittedly be glad to let another stable win this one! Crazy ponies… Must be something in the water. Maybe it’s the same thing that’s making them (surprisingly) love the winner’s circle so much lately (40% wins so far this year), so maybe I shouldn’t complain.
ALL REBEL - 8.1hh blue roan colt
SIRE: GCh. Dixie Time (created)
DAM: It’s All Yours (Forget It {G} x Fondly Yours {B})
His name may change, but for now, I like the tie-in to both mom & dad. He’s tiny, by a brand new sire, and from a mare with no racing-age foals yet. Those are three strikes against him. However, he is a fun color, and both mom and dad were successful racers. I’m hoping that this fact helps him out. I’m really curious to see how this works out for him. He was purchased in-utero, but we were mainly after his dam - a multiple stakes placed daughter of the gold-rated Forget It. There are only 6 other mares by this stallion in the game, and one is reine-de-course, while most of the others, like It’s All Yours, are just starting out. He will be our first chance to “test” her producing abilities.
IT’S ALL YOURS is headed to visit As You Wish…because I no longer own any of his get!

I love his name! Don’t change it!
Holy cow…a GIRL!
OCTOBER SKY - 9.1hh dark bay filly
SIRE: Octagonal {B} (created)
DAM: War Cat (created)
This filly is a total shot in the dark, but then, she was technically bred by Final Furlong. Dad only has his 2YO/just turned 3 crop the judge from, as it was his first - hopefully they will blossom as they age. This is also War Cat’s 4th foal, with her oldest also just having turned 3. If I’m lucky, both will produce late bloomers (instead of never-bloomers). The dam is stakes placed, holding two dirt sprint speed records at 4yo, which was my main motivation for purchasing her.
WAR CAT is visiting Dark Demand, who is tall (she’s not) and was a stakes winner at 2 to offset her late maturity. Fingers crossed.

Love her name!
Lovely name.
Three healthy babies have arrived yesterday and today. They’ve been named after the holidays they were born on, because they’re pretty special days. Easter spent with family and April Fool’s Day, which is also my birthday. I don’t recall ever having a foal born on my birthday before, so getting TWO made for a great present from my broods.
EOSTRE - 8.0hh flea-bitten grey colt
SIRE: ICh. Belanso (created)
DAM: Murder By Numbers (Run For It {S} x CrossTheThreshold {G})
This tiny boy was purchased in-utero, primarily for his dam, as she is a daughter of our retired gold-rated broodmare, and our oldest daughter from her (GCh. Afterglow) is still running and not yet makin’ babies. In addition, she’s by Run For It, who did well as a sire and isn’t too common. She is also stakes placed in her own right. Dad was a great runner, but this is his first crop, so we’ll see how he does over time. Neither his sire nor dam were good at 2, so I won’t be surprised if this guy is a late bloomer as well. Technically his namesake is a goddess, the namesake of Easter…but many Christians deny this due to not wanting pagan ties, and instead insist that it means “the month of opening”, so we’re going to go with that.
MURDER BY NUMBERS is visiting Spock this year.
PRANKSTER - 10.0hh bay colt
SIRE: NCh. Call To War (Man O’War {S} x Hey Toots {G})
DAM: Lucky Fox (Gallant Fox {B} x Here’s To Luck {S})
I’m glad to see such a tall, strong colt from this cross. We’ll soon learn how CTW might do as a sire. He is the second foal (and second colt) from his multi-winning dam, who was very sporadically raced, having only 13 lifetime starts in 3 years. However, despite this, she managed to earn 3 speed records. I really believe that I failed her on the track, but I hope to make it up to her through her progeny. The name “prankster” seemed incredibly fitting, for both April Fool’s Day and for traits typically associated with foxes in folklore.
LUCKY FOX is visiting our home stud, Witness, this year.
POISSON D’AVRIL - 9.2hh dark grey filly
SIRE: NCh. Silver Wizard (NCh. Highland Wizard {G} x Silver Wind {S})
DAM: Whirl Me Away {B} (created)
This is the first filly (and third foal) birthed by this mare after winning her in the Color War. Her name is the French version of April Fool’s Day, though the English translation (April fish) is not nearly so pretty. She’s a lovely girl from a new sire (his first crop is 2yo), so I’m excited to see what she will become. She’s quite a gamble.
WHIRL ME AWAY is for sale.

Congrats, and happy birthday!
Cute names!
Thank you!
Another baby was born - thankfully, a filly.
EYEWITNESS - 8.2hh grey filly
SIRE: ICh. Witness {B} (Class Act {G} x Time For Truth {S})
DAM: Kelly Green {B} (created)
I’m glad to have gotten a filly from this cross, because I only bought her dam (and her in-utero) for this foal. Her dam will now be for sale. This is the first foal by Witness born at our farm, so she’s pretty special. She’s also only the second daughter of his that we own. All of Kelly Green’s offspring so far are winners, with one stakes placed. And Witness, though only bronze-ranked, has the second highest win % of all the stallions currently standing (over 85%). I really, really want to see what he can do with planned crosses and strategic training (rather than FF’s random breedings/race entering). Hopefully this gal will be a solid allowance winner, at least.
KELLY GREEN is for sale.

Good name
Quite a few more have popped up on the farm recently, but I’ve had a difficult time coming up with names, so their announcements have had to wait. Now that I’ve settled on names (for now, anyway ), I’d like to introduce you…
ALMOST FIZZY - 8.1hh light bay filly
SIRE: ICh. Almost Precious (Almost Home {B} x Precious Belle {G})
DAM: Fizzix (Seabiscuit {S} x Delicate Subject {S})
This filly is tiny, but at this point, I’m just grateful for 1) alive and 2) GIRL! She is from her sire’s second crop, so we’re still waiting to see if he can produce. He was a bit of a late bloomer, doing virtually nothing at 2, but winning his first stakes at 3. Her dam was a VERY late bloomer, with her first win at the age of 5, but she’s 1/2 to several MSW/SP, including GCh. Torrid. I don’t expect this filly to be a strong 2yo contender, but at least both parents finished in the top 3 consistently for several years. She ought to be a hard-knocking runner once she finally matures.
FIZZIX has been bred to High Chances.
BANBA’S CROWN - 9.1hh bay colt
SIRE: ICh. What’s Your Point {G} (Point Given {S} x Rosebud {G})
DAM: Ch. Classic Irish (NCh. I’m A Classic {S} x Ch. Celtic Mist {S})
This is definitely one of the most exciting foals of the season. I’m not even upset that he’s a he, even given the current ratio. I really think he might stand a chance of being a stallion prospect. Clearly, his sire has the talent to throw star power. His dam, however, was one of my best runners, though I was terribly inactive during most of her running years. She averaged 4 starts per year (hangs head in shame). She still managed a stakes win, place, and earned her champion title despite all of this. I plan to do better for her babies, though. This colt is named for the northernmost point in Ireland.
CLASSIC IRISH has a late date with Witness, but I’m holding out for a bit, in case anyone misses a booking and needs to swap.
LAUGH AT LOVE - 9.0hh grey filly
SIRE: ICh. Gunningdownromance {S} (What’s It Worth {P} x Seek For Love {P})
DAM: That’s So Funny (created)
Hooray for a GDR filly! Though he hasn’t had the superpowers of some others stallions (say, Foolhardy or Nightfight), GDR has managed to throw a decent number of stakes winners/placers. He ran best at 2 & 3, while the dam ran best at 5 & 6. If I’m lucky, this girl will find her hooves by age 3, and then continue from there. Who knows. But she sure is cute!
THAT’S SO FUNNY is also visiting Witness this year.
ZEALOUS - 8.3hh dark bay colt
SIRE: Monarchos (created)
DAM: Theatrical Lady (created)
This is the boy who really stumped me for names. I finally just picked a random name that I liked, hoping that he will indeed be “eager & dilligent”. He’s from his sire’s first crop, and although he’s a famous RL stud, he is unraced and unproven in FF. Who knows whether he will be a good sire or not. The dam, Theatrical Lady, was stakes placed & preferred the winner’s circle (during that same period of relative inactivity), and did best at age 2 & 3. I’m hoping that this bodes well for him, but there is no way to know.
THEATRICAL LADY has been bred to Galaxy’s Zodiac.
