Ivy Creek's 2016 Foal Crop

Love the name.

I was super surprised it wasn’t taken already.   Otherwise, I might have used it long ago!

Love the name and Calla Lily’s are my favorite flowers…

Nice filly,
I’m glad your  retired mare is leaving a great legacy

Love the name Calla Lily. Good luck with her!

Another was born this morning…

FOOL’S ERRAND - 2016 bay colt, 9.3hh
SIRE: FFCh. Foolhardy {G} (What’s It Worth {P} x Foolish Question {P})
DAM: Ch. Kiasport (created)
Another baby from a stallion who is quickly earning fame through his offspring.  We’re super excited to have another Foolhardy baby, though both are colts (a filly would be nice).  Mom was a stakes winner at 3, multi-stakes placed at 2 and 3.  This is her second foal (and second colt).  I’m hoping her early talent combined with Foolhardy’s superpowers will make this colt a nice little runner.
KIASPORT has a date with Empire Maker.

6 fillies | 4 colts | 27 still due
1 stillborn, 1 mare retirement

Congrats cute name

It’s been a busy week at Ivy Creek’s breeding barn.  We have 4 new babies to introduce - all fillies.

AIRSTRIKE - 2016 chestnut filly, 9.0hh
SIRE: Smart Strike (Mr. Prospector {S} x created)
DAM: Je Suis Prest (created)
After giving us 3 colts, Je Suis Prest FINALLY gave us a filly.  This girl is a bit of an unknown, as her eldest 1/2 sibling is 3 and barely raced (my fault), with a lot of figuring out left to do.  Dad’s first crop will hit the track this spring, so we’ll see what happens.
JE SUIS PREST has been sent to visit Dixie Time.

KHIONE - 2016 grey filly, 9.2hh
SIRE: Nightfight {G} (The Black {G} x Times Ebony {P})
DAM: Klondike Nights {B} (Black Knight {S} x Klondike Gold {S})
This girl was bred to include The Black/Black Knight bloodlines as in stakes winner, Early Valentine.  Now her sire is recognized on his own, making this cross extra-appealing.  Mom is no slouch, either - all her 1/2 siblings to race are winners, with one stakes placed (Fire and Ice) so far.  I’m really excited about this girl.  Khione is the goddess of snow.
KLONDIKE NIGHTS will be visiting Formal Occasion (hopefully!), in order to mimic the Highland Laird/Black Knight cross that produced MSW Dark Laird.

RED SUNDRESS - 2016 dark bay filly, 9.0hh
SIRE: Sun King (created)
DAM: Queen of Humor (created)
This girl is a bit of a mystery, as this is her sire’s first crop, and her dam’s oldest foal has just turned 2YO.  Queen of Humor has only given us fillies so far.  On the track, she was a multi-winner who has 3 speed records.  This little girl is named after the line in the song, “Somethin’ 'Bout a Truck”, which popped in my head when trying to think of words with “sun” in them.
QUEEN OF HUMOR will be visiting Joyeux Oiseau for her next foal.

VENEZUELA - 2016 chestnut filly, 10.0hh
SIRE: ICh. V is for Victory (GCh. Jazz It Up {G} x Dark Victory {P})
DAM: That’s So Funny (created)
This tall filly is from her sire’s second crop.  She’s her dam’s second foal (first filly).  This makes her a bit of a mystery on the track, but we know that dad was super talented, and mom is a multi-winner and speed record holder.  I’m really curious to see what this means for Venezuela in the future…
THAT’S SO FUNNY is visiting Gunningdownromance for her next baby.

10 fillies | 4 colts | 23 still due
1 stillborn, 1 mare retirement

Nice babies.

Nice lot, hope they do well

Love the names. =)

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

Also, I went through and updated the breed rankings of all the sires/dams…mostly because I found it entertaining, but maybe it will be informative to someone, somewhere.  :stuck_out_tongue:  Or just to me - that’s fine, too.

Three more babies arrived earlier this week:

BLINK BACK TEARS - 2016 black filly, 9.0hh
SIRE: NCh. Void {B} (Planet Hollywood {S} x Patriot Games {P})
DAM: Running Blind {B} (Unbridled {B} x Blind Justice {S})
Blink Back Tears was purchased in-utero with her dam, so she is technically bred by Railbird.  So far, all of her half siblings are winners.  And Void isn’t much on the big-shot stallion radar, but he only has a whopping 6 foals to race so far, and to his credit, one is stakes placed so far.  Maybe he’ll have better luck once his 2YOs hit the track, as it will more than double his number of runners if they all start.  Still, this girl may end up for sale at some point…
RUNNING BLIND is going to be our first mare to visit Belanso.

I might drop the El of El Cari

Lovely foals

Nice names and cute babies

Thanks!

Had another one born today - and guess what?  Another filly.   I am certainly NOT complaining about the trend this year…

JAGGED EDGE - 2016 chestnut filly, 8.1hh
SIRE: ICh. What’s Your Point {B} (Point Given {S} x Rosebud {G})
DAM: Oh So Sharp {S} (Dr. Time {B} x Sweet Escapes {S})
This very tiny filly is probably going to be a late bloomer, as that’s what mom & dad both seem to throw, and she’s super small.  Still, dad has produced a handful of stakes level ponies, and with only 1 crop to race, he’s got time to prove himself.  Mom has a similar track record - her eldest foal is a stakes winner, and her 4YO has just broken her maiden (I own her, though, and will fully admit to neglecting her last year).  Her 3YO colt has raced twice ever.  And so, time will tell, but I think this filly has a real shot in oh, 4 or 5 years.  :stuck_out_tongue:  Anyhow, with a combination of names that include “sharp” and “point” - she had to have some kind of dangerous name.
OH SO SHARP is visiting Ring Of Fire in hopes of recreating some of the magic Cross Roads x Sweet Escapes produced in MSW millionaire GCh. Back Roads.

12 fillies | 6 colts | 19 still due
1 stillborn, 1 mare retirement

Cute! Love the name. Good luck with her

Clever name! She’s very cute, and it’s always nice to have a couple late bloomers hanging around.

Love the name! Surprised it wasn’t taken.

Lovely foals, especially like Blink Back Tears
