9.2h black filly. Bred by FF. Third foal for MSW, MSP dam. We were very lucky to acquire mum from last year’s select auction so glad to have a safe foaling. Her oldest foal is 2 and he’s sitting at home in the barn as he’s rather on the small side. Filly is named after a steamboat, a common sight on the Mississippi river in days gone by. Mum now visits Long Live The King.

7.2h blue roan colt. Second foal for MSW, MSP dam. Came 10 days early but seems healthy. Dam holds several speed records and his sire was exceptional on the track. Dam now visits Strider.

9.1h bay colt. 13th foal for his Gold ranked dam. Half to our stable star ICh Quarren, NCh Bright Gold and Ch Evenstar. We have two unraced half-siblings by Highland Magic out of mum but this is our first homebred. Q will now visit Nightfight.

In a colt heavy year everyone’s excited about today’s arrival. A first homebred filly for another of our best mares. She’s bred three colts since we bought her and although we have two of her older daughters it’s nice to have finally got a hombred filly from her.

What’s Your Point x Just A Fox (Gallant Fox).
8.3h chestnut filly. 9th foal for her Gold ranked dam. Half to MSW GCh Sionnach and CH Kingston Coup, SW Ch Just Like Ice, SP Crowd Teaser and recent 2yo Vulpecula. Her sire has a great record so hopefully she can follow in the family footsteps. She arrived a few days late and mum has missed her intended date. We’ll have a look and see who else is available for her.
Name would probably be better for a colt but I think it sounds ok. Ran out of ‘fox’ related names so hers means ‘the wolverine’ (yes, it is from the film!).

Blue Smoke x Ring of Brodgar (Highland Pride)
10.1h flea-bitten grey colt. Third foal (and colt) for his SW,MSP dam. Dam is half-sister to MSW GCh Dark Warlock and Ch Sardonyx. Their dam, Onyx, is half to retired stud High On Love. Ring of Brodgar will now visit Ring of Fire.
The name comes from the type of stone supposedly used to create Stonehenge, a set of standing stones in Salisbury, England. The Ring of Brodgar is a set of standing stones in Orkney, Scotland.
Foaling season is almost over and we’ve had three new arrivals over the past few days. Not sure on the names for the two girls - alternative suggestions are welcome.

After complaining yesterday about our last mare being overdue, Flawless finally uncrossed her legs overnight. We end the foaling season as we started it, with the safe arrival of a Blue Smoke filly.

10.1h dark bay filly. 8th foal for MSP mare. Half to SW Starting Point. We used this name for Flawless’ colt last year but he’s been renamed so we’ve used it again. Flawless missed her date with Magic Glory so has revisited Blue Smoke.
2018 has resulted in 50 live foals, split into 30 colts and 20 fillies. We had one mare death, three stillborn foals and one mare retirement.
