Allowances range from $35,000-$70,000. If you need cheaper races, try claiming races.
I was looking at some of my retired horses the other day and I was thinking how neat it would be if I could view their actual racing stats (i.e. GOT or Race Preferences). What I’m hinting towards is I think a fun feature to add would be the option to view a horses actual racing preferences or GOT and Stats like stride length, stamina…etc. But only viewable after the horse is retired. I think this would be helpful or interesting to see because we could see if we were racing them the way they preferred or if we were completely off and the horse could have been better. I think it could be a valuable training aid in that we can compare certain behaviors and effects and apply them in possibly different ways than we are accustomed to. But my basic reason would be just to satisfy curiosity and it would be fun comparing stride length, heart, stamina…etc with other retired horses.
Also, by retired I mean COMPLETELY retired…from breeding and everything.
GOTs no longer exist. And I think being able to view specific stats (like this horse had a stamina of 9.7 furlongs) would take a lot of the realism out of the game, especially when it relates to breeding. If you can go and see that your foal’s grandparents all had staminas of 9.1, 9.4, 10.2, and 8.9 furlongs, you pretty much know exactly how to run your horse. Whereas in real life, you’d only be able to tell that they ran best at a mile to a mile to a quarter, but depending on how their other stats worked out (if they had a ton of energy that race day, high courage, etc) their race record/finishes may paint a very different picture.
It’s not like, in real life, you retire a horse you suddenly go “oh duh, he totally should be running at 7 furlongs, as evidenced by his frolicking in his pasture for 5 minutes instead of 10!”.
Yeah, alright. I see your point. Just wishful thinking.
A couple things that I wondering about - that could make it more realistic - but would require another dimension for programmers…
Jockeys often race out of a home track - if I’ve been interpreting the results properly, it appears that all jockeys race all over, at all tracks.
Having jockey’s race predominantly at a home track with some leeway to travel for stakes races would increase some of the realism.
Having trainers would also add an important element. It would be a large addition as the trainer could supplement or come up with training routines for those that don’t have the time to set programs for all of their horses. Different trainers would have varying skill levels and you would get what you pay for. It’s a bit of a dream since there would be some level of artificial intelligence to determine suggestions - I guess that’s our jobs; owner/trainers of our stables.
I don’t really plan on doing something like this, as that would mean multiplying the number of jockeys we have by a factor of about 50 (as there would need to be at least 28 jockeys available at every single track). However, I have considered giving stables the option of having their own stable jockey, who would give them first choice for any races their horses are in, and potentially be available for other stables if they have no horses entered.
I can promise that this will never happen , as it would turn us into mouse-clicking monkeys if the game gives us a bunch of AI advice that we blindly follow. However, I do plan on adding an “assistant trainer” sort of option, that would give different feedback than the jockeys give in workouts. Stuff along the lines of “so-and-so might still be immature”, or “so-and-so looks really great on dirt, not so much on turf”, or “I tried so-and-so in blinkers and he hated it”.
A stable jockey would be good plan.
The assistant trainer option would fill that void - good idea.
I’m going to set up a request in the bug system as well but just wanted to tell everyone of my intentions as well because I think this feature would be fun.
I was thinking it would be fun to have a button or have a search option to view certain stakes races and the winning horse and stable all the way from the beginning.
That’s it.
That’s planned, except it would search any races. So you could search for all races won by Foolhardy (or where he places 4th or something), or all runnings of the Kentucky Derby, etc.
Yeah that’s awesome and I did see that a similar request had been made, but I still submitted mine on the bases of what I was thinking was a bit different. Either way though it achieving the same result. Very cool!
I think there was a topic where we discussed adding more races in the future… I just thought, what if we had another race day only for steeplechase? And two days per week for flat races? Maybe the steeplechase day could have less than 50 races (20? 30?) because there are not so many horses in there, but when we do have them, it’s hard to run them as often as the rest…
I like the sound of that. I have quite a few SC horses who are just standing around getting fat 'cause I can’t seem to find races to run them in. XD
I finally sent like 95% of my SC horses home due to lack of stakes races for them. Attack in the new year after a long rest.
I’m fourth-ing this request. I have a string of SC ponies with nowhere to go. More SC stakes would be great, too, if steeplechase day became a thing.
I would definitely love to see more steeplechase races. If an extra race day doesn’t happen, at least more races if anything!
love more SC races, I have had some decent SC horses and nowhere to race them
And another thing: there could be more info on Stable Race Results page (the individual stable results popup that shows after each raceday), for example Owner and Odds… like on the Post Parade page.
It has been mentioned before: listing a stallion’s location on the Stallion Stats page (state/country).
I note the requests for more SC races. I don
Consider my curiosity peaked. I didn’t think horses trained at all while at the farm? Workout pages show no activity while they’re at home.
But I would also love to be able to switch horses from one training schedule to another as more of a dropdown vs. deleting and selecting a new one. Being able to switch horses en masse (almost like submitting nominations) would be amazing, too.
