Well I’m going on a hunch to say this little girl may like the jumps. Her daddy was a turf monster and 2X BC SC Distaff winner Eternal Lady left her stamp on the SC world. This is Eternal Lady’s second filly. Lady is half to Gunningdownromance who’s father is Worth so what better cross than a Worth son. We are big fans of Foolish Question who has a Laird baby running this year so we’ll really get a chance to see how this cross will do once Foolish Smile hits the track.

The mares breeding is pretty good and this is her second foal. She was questionable on the track so we’re hoping she holds true to her linage in the breeding shed at least. This was a shot in the dark breeding and we named the colt after his daddy. His name means Gibraltar in latin.

This is the first foal of Multi Winner Lit de Lilly out of gold rated Rogues Lilly. We couldn’t resist a Planet Hollywood son for this girl. Rogues Lilly and PH crossed to create my beloved Noteasybeingreen. We were hopeing for a similar result in Good As Gold with the added benefit of Patriot Games (G) and Lit de Justice (S).

OMG! We are all soooo ecstatic here at CDS. One of our oldest/favorite broodies, who we have been keeping an extra special eye on this past 11 months, gave birth to one BIG baby boy. She was over 2 weeks late but we had a smooth delivery as usual and both mom and baby are doing just fine.

Thought since he is an animal it would be appropriate.

She is named after my little Marley since she was born on his DOD.
After milling around the broodmare barn this afternoon we came across [color=red]Golden Princess favoring her right hind leg. Upon closer examination it turns out she fractured her ankle and cannon bone resulting in multiple hairline fractures. We are treating her at the moment and the vet has recommended that we retire her from breeding since it would be extra stressful on her in the future not only during breeding but during pregnancy also. So unfortunately Golden Princess is being retired from breeding as of 2014. She is still in foal to Ring Of Fire and we are closely monitoring her and using the least abrasive pain management techniques to keep her comforable and not affect the foal. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for this little boy or girl. Golden Princess will be due to foal in July.
Golden Princess has a relatively short but successful breeding career. She had a very limited race record being started only 3 times but finished on the board all three times including a win. Not including her inutero foal she has delivered 9 healthy foals including MSW twins GCh. Irish Gold and Ch. Opulent, SW Ch. Northern Gold and Winners Close Call, Prime Minister, Ch. A Seperate Peace, Scrooge, and Daily Special. Her 2012 filly by Giant’s Causeway was unfortunately stillborn, but luckily we have her 2013 colt, Nightlight, to look forward to racing next year and hopfully her Ring of Fire foal the year after. Her foals average almost 500k and she is a high Silver ranked broodmare herself. Golden Princess will truly be missed in our breeding program but we will be looking forward to the legacy she has left us with in Opulent and Daily Special.

This was one of the mares showing “not if foal”. Because of this I cannot see if she is still in foal or not. Is the foal still in the system?
I made a mistake on the Report A Bug and said she was in foal to As You Wish. I found she was actually in foal to Ring of Fire after searching my budget.

One of our prized maiden mares, Hollywood Heiress (What’s It Worth X (G) GCh. Hollywood Gold (G)) gave birth to her first foal today. We were super excited that we didn’t have to interfere with the birthing process and everything went very smoothly.

We are super excited to have this colt. He’s got great lines on both sides and both parents are starting to prove themselves. Heiress only has two racing foals with one being a 2yo who has finished on the board in both his starts this year. As You Wish only has 7 2yo who have hit the track so far but we already have a winner and 4 places. The 2 who haven’t placed yet have both finished in 4th in large fields for their first races so I’m not worried about them making it soon. Things are looking good so far!

Once again both parents are still proving themselves but making progress. Conductor’s first born is a winner and her 2yo this year, London Fog, has a 4th place finish out of 14 in her first start this year. Tellicherry pepper is suppose to be some of the best pepper and we all know we need a little spice in our barns.

We were excited to cross these two in hopes they would really compliment each other. DD got her name from a performer who sings at the Bellagio in Las Vegas on a regular basis. Only 8 more foals to go this year!!
