2yos in 2016: Who are you excited about?

Yes, we’re over 6 months away until the buggers actually hit the track, but the end of this racing season always makes me start thinking of next year.

Here are the yearlings in my stable that are making me a little giddy.

[color=red]Tsotsi is by our own ICh. Dark Continent out of the royally bred mare GCh. Hollywood Native (G), who traces her lineage back to Hollywood Silver (G) and Hollywood Queen (G).  So, really super excited to see what comes of this cross.  Older brother Ch. Notachanceinheck has proved to be consistent, winning 7 times this year and placing in the top two at least 50% of the time.

[color=red]Thats Not My Point is by ICh. What’s Your Point out of Ch. Notanotherhighland.  Her older brother, Timbuktu (ICh. Dark Continent) has show some promise on the track, and we’re hoping this filly is no different.

[color=red]Pie in the Sky is the first foal out of GCh. Firmament, the full sister to NCh. Brilliant Gold.  Also from the first crop of WCh. All Jazzed Up.

[color=blue]Out of the Ashes is by WCh. Strider out of Phoenix (G).  Another foal we’ve waited along time to run, since purchasing his dam a couple years back.

[color=red]Memorial Day by retired stallion Stars ‘n’ Stripes out of NCh. American Black (G).  1/2 to GCh. Highland Black, GCh. Mississippi, and NCh. Highland Paint.  We’re hoping she lives up to her pedigree.

[color=red]Lucretia I’ve been waiting a long time to campaign my very own Italy § foal, since I purchased the dam at the select auction several years ago now.  Sire is WCh. King David.

[color=red]Jester’s Crown is by Foolhardy out of Ch. Crowning Glory by one of my favorite broodmare sires, Lonesome Glory.  Purchased for over $200k at the Railbird auction.

[color=blue]Hubris by High Chances out of NCh. Gotta Be A Natural.  He’s the only foal out of his dam, who died during the foaling process.  We’re hoping he’s 1/2 as good as his lineage seems to imply.

[color=red]Fit to be Tied is by High Chances out of GCh. Fit to be Jim.

[color=blue]Desertification is by Strider (B) out of GCh. Kamole Sands.  I imagine he won’t really hit his stride until he’s a 3yo or 4yo, but a girl can hope.

[color=blue]City Upon a Hill by WCh. Crystal Rainbow and out of NCh. Sacred Hill.  1/2 to Forbidden City (King David), who has shown some real promise.

[color=red]Clarity of Night by WCh. Nightfight, whose 2yos have had QUITE the season.  That alone makes me giddy.  Clarity is the first foal out of Ch. Saturnalia (Planet Hollywood) and from the Fleeting Beauty line.

I have quite a few I’m looking forward to so will update this post when I have more time to go through them. But one of note is below…

[color=red]BOMBARDIER is a gorgeous filly currently standing at 15.0h, so hopefully she’s an early maturer. She’s by FFCh. FOOLHARDY and out of WCh. HIGHLAND JET (who is by HIGHLAND ROGUE and out of JET SET GO). I’m really hoping she’ll be a great runner, but her dam’s first two foals haven’t done too much on the track.

Wowsers! That time of year already?? This year has just flown by! Anyways, heres the babies that I am most excited about

[color=red]Alluring Girl
[WCh. Highland Bandit (S) x Ch. Pirate’s Revenge (G)]
First I love her sire, anything Highland tends to produce some pretty nice foals. Her dam is also very nice, a MSP out of Seabiscuit. Alluring Girl is also 1/2 to MSW Corsair.

[color=blue]Face The Fire
[WCh. I’m Your Angel (S) x GCh. Just Victory II]
Well, i’m really excited about ANY Angel baby, especially because Angel’s two year olds have been running so well, but i’m extra excited about Face The Fire. I love his dam, she was a phenomenal runner for me, hopefully Face the Fire can follow both Angel’s and Victory’s footsteps!

[color=blue]First Fight
[WCh. Nightfight (G) x Ch. First Fox]
Nightfight has produced some MONSTER 2yos who have just ran amazingly, really impressed with him as a stud. First Fight’s dam was a decent runner, was a SW and MSP; she also has Gallant Fox in her lineage who I have always been a fan of.

Theres others that I am excited about, but I wont bore you with all of them :slight_smile:, these are the ones i’m watching the most

I tend to get excited about them all until they prove otherwise,but here are a few I’m pinning my hopes on!

[color=red]Deep of the Night , 16.0h ,bay,filly (should be 17.0h)
By-WCh. Nightfight (G) x (The Black (S) x Times Ebony (S))
OO- Bringdowntheocean(S) x (Seabiscuit (S) x Bringdownthehouse (B))
Got her from railbird, of course love Nightfight but seems to have some decent lines behind her with seabicuit.

[color=blue]Set It Off ,15.0h,black,colt (predicted to be 16.2h)
By-WCh. Nightfight (G) x (The Black (S) x Times Ebony (S))
OO-Ch. Privilage x (GCh. Jazz It Up (S) x Rapunzel (S))
This one was bred by blue ridge,and with Jazz it up’s winning progeny and a reine de course grand dam , plus Nightfight I’m hoping to have a monster here!

[color=red]Starlite Danzer ,15.2h,black,filly, July baby(should be 17.0h)
By-GCh. Starzen (B) (Black Legend (G) x Seeing Starz (G))
OO-Danzinallnight (S) (Assault (S) x Danzatore (B))
One of the last two fillies out of the 5 foals my starter mare had before she died birthing her last filly this yr at 9, all have proven winners so far! And with these additional stud lines I am hoping for another great filly.

[color=red]Twilight Haze ,15.0h (July filly) bay (should be 16.0h)
By-Octagonal (Created x Created)
OO-Ch. Evening Haze (Cigar (S) x Evening Flame (S))
The dam of my Ch Nightfight filly decided to try adding in octagonal for this one, but the real power comes from the dam lines, she’s a great producer and next yr a full blooded sister to Nightlit Haze will hit the track(2017)

[color=red]Devil in De Nile ,14.2h, dapple grey (another July filly)(only predicted to be 15.3h)
By-ICh. Devil His Due  (GCh. Go For Dash (S) x Ch. Devil’s Own (S))
OO-Nefertiti (B) (Awesome Again (B) x Egyptian Pharaoh (S))
This dam has produced my 3 yo GCh Highland Priestess, so we are hoping that using a different sire line will give us similar results.

And the last I’ll post since I sold another fave mares foal to get BC money,is the following

[color=blue]Charmed One ,15.0h,bay colt (July baby)
(should be 16.3h)
By-NCh. Seattle Sorcerer (S) (Seattle Slew (S) x Highland Sorceress (G))
OO-Pharaoh’s Spirit (S) (Created x Egyptian Pharaoh (S))
His dam produced Ch Kamenwati who is still going strong and other good foals, with the highland line added in I am hoping for another monster on the track.

Of course I love them all but these are the ones I’m really tracking, looks like most will be later bloomers (and at least half predicted to be 16-17h high), due to their b-days, but I cannot wait to get my Nightfight babies on the track! My dam that produced my best Angel baby has a nice one coming along, along with another fave broodmare. Cannot wait to see what happens!

2016 will be my first real year of homebreds hitting the track (previous years I had maybe 1-2). Here are a few I’m really looking forward to!

[color=blue]Into the Sea, 14.3hh chestnut colt
GCH. Go for Dash (S) x Jazzify, by GCH. Jazz it Up (S)
Jazzify’s first foal, a 2yo of this year, was stakes placed and Go for Dash had sired some really nice horses before being retired far too early. Excited to see what he can do!

[color=blue]Dandywine, 14.2hh dark bay colt
WCH. Highland Bandit (S) x CH. I’m Yours Joe (S)
Dandywine is a half-brother to WCH. I’m Your Angel and two other Champions. I’m hoping being by a Rogue stallion that’ll make him a turf monster. Joe is out of a gold dam.

[color=blue]Paris Song, 14.2hh black colt
A.P. Indy (S) x Given Melody (S), by Point Given (S)
I’ve had a lot of good luck with A.P. Indy’s, and Given Melody has turned into quite the producer, throwing 3-3 runners/winners including a MSW. Should be quite the dirt runner.

[color=red]Salle Le Peletier, 15hh bay filly
NCH. I’m a Classic (S) x Choreographer (B)
Choreographer was one of my starter horses and gave me my first homebred, Notable Dancer, who became a SW before breaking a leg and being sidelined (should return around next March), so any foals of hers I love. Her other racing-age foal I own, Hollywood Groove, took a bit to find his stride but he’s become extremely consistent. I also love I’m a Classic.

[color=blue]War Letters, 16.2hh bay colt
WCH. Nightflight (G) x Jezabelle, by War Admiral (S)
Everyone’s excited for their Nightflights  ;D He’s already bigger than some of my 2yo’s, so I’m hoping that means he’ll be a monster. Jezabelle’s only racing-age foal has been pretty good this year, too.

The following I’m excited for based solely on the sire: [color=blue]Perfect Gentleman (Worth My While), [color=red]Playdate (Rahy), [color=red]R

I have to say all of them as I’ve only got seven at the moment.

[color=red]Beautiful Basic Turn N Burn(S) ex Adiantum (created)(S)
Half sister to a Ch. She Will Fly (MSW,MSP), two MSP runners and another SP runner. A June baby, she might be later maturing but a nice enough pedigree to play with

[color=blue]Burn Signal Turn N Burn (S) ex Advance Signal (created) (G)
Dam has three runners so far one MSW, one SW and a 2yo placed once in two starts this year. This is her first colt.

[color=red]Flora Macdonald Point Given(S) ex Highland Lady (S) (Secretariat)
Granddaughter of Highland Raven. Highland Lady has produced some reasonably smart runners and I really like Point Given.

[color=blue]Pale Moon Rising Moonopoly(B) ex Glide For Joy (unranked) (created)
Our first homebred  :slight_smile: Not expecting too much to be honest as the pedigree doesn’t suggest much, he’s a July baby and still only 13.2hh - I’ve got taller weanlings. So he’ll be quite a late starter. Half brother to Cat’s Joy a MW over fences this year (dam’s only runner to date).

[color=blue]Shottle Jazz It Up(S) ex Highland Rose(S)
Dam is a half sister to Highland Bandit. 1/2 brother to  a MSW and  SW. The full brother showed promise over fences at four before breaking a leg so hopefully some talent here although again might be a late bloomer.

[color=blue]Sionnach Giant’s Causeay(S) ex Just A Fox(S) (Gallant Fox)
We’ve raced two of his half sisters quite succesfully. Dam’s oldest progeny is SW,MSP and the 3yo that we own is MW, MP at allowance level this year.

[color=blue]Smitten Kitten Alley Cat(B) ex Burnitup(B)(created)
Dam has two runners to date, both winners with the oldest (4yo) running well over fences this year. Likely to be another slow starter.

I have one filly that is already 17.0h tall :slight_smile: can’t wait to see her in the maidens: Nadira (NCh. Lasting Spirit (B) - Cat’s Point by Point Given (S) ).

Battle Hill has a line up of some of the best bred up coming 2 yo’s… we are most excited about the following…

  1. [color=blue] Above The Law
    March 4, 2014 - Black - Colt - 14.3hh
    Sired by: A.P. Indy (S/S) Chef-de-Race (B/I)
    Out of: Fighting To Dream (Captain Jack (S/S))

His sire needs no introduction, He’s the highest ranked Living sire in FF. His dam has rare bloodlines being a daughter of Captain Jack (S/S). I’m looking forward to seeing what this boy can do in the track…

  1. [color=blue]Devil’s Walk
    January 1, 2014 - Black - Colt - 15.3hh
    Sired by: WCh. Nightfight (G)
    Out of: GCh. Devilady

We are super excited about Walker… His sire’s freshman crop has been amazing… and his dam was a top dirt sprinter… We are looking forward to his 2 yo season…

  1. [color=blue]Virginia Delegate
    January 8, 2014 - Grey - Colt - 15.0hh
    Sired by: GCh. Highland Laird (S/S) Chef-de-Race (B/I)
    Out of: Into The Myst (G) (Native Dancer (S/S))

Del is Headed to the track as a turf horse… His sire known for his prowess over the rails, his dam ending her career over the rails as well… Myst’s fist foal a MSW… Del will be one to watch…

  1. [color=red]Final Gamble
    April 20, 1914 - Black - Filly - 16.0hh
    Sired by: NCh. Highland Wizard (S/S)
    Out of: Lady Gambler (S)

Fin is the final foal of her dam and 1/2 several Stakes winners… She will represent one of the last foal crops of her sire… This fill is huge for her age and if she can find her stride may be an early winner…

  1. [color=red]Fiery Dancer
    February 2, 2014 - Grey - Filly - 15.0hh
    Sire by: WCh. All Jazzed Up
    Out of: Ch. Calypso (G)

This tall filly is from the freshman crop of her sire and out of a MSW producing mare… She’s a fractious filly and if the jockey can keep her on track she should be a front runner in 2016…

  1. [color=red]Season Ofthe Witch
    January 13, 2014 - Bay - Filly - 14.3hh
    Sired by: GCh. Highland Laird (S/S) Chef-de-Race (B/I)
    Out of: Ch. Hermione

This filly is a sentimental favorite of ours, her dam being one of our starter horses and a consistent winner for us… Paired with Highland Laird (another sentimental fave) we hope to see this little girl prove to be a great runner… Watch for her in 2016…

I’m definitely going to try and be a lot more active this year since I have a Nightfight baby in my upcoming 2yo crop.

Nightlife, black colt by Nightfight out of Royalle, stands a tiny 14.3 hand but we’re hoping he hits a growth spurt soon. With Go For Dash and Times Ebony appearing in his pedigree we’re also hoping he follows in Gotta Go’s footsteps a little.

Crimes of Passion, daughter of Moonover Boy and Golden Legend. I’m very much inclined toward those with a little more rare bloodlines which is how this girl came about. She’s a cute 14.1 bay filly, half sister to One Lucky Soul and Beau Esprit

My first homebreds will be running in 2016 so I am excited for all of them, :smiley: I hope I paired up the right mares with the right studs, lol.

[color=blue]The Time Lord [Tiznow-What’s Honor, by What’s Debatable] - my first of the homebreds (and a New Year’s Day foal)! His sire isn’t much but What’s Honor is a sibling to Chivalry, so I hope this bad boy has some talent.

[color=blue]Little Lion Man [Alley Cat-DreaminofAngels] - picked up his dam from the auctions. She’s produced two winners from two starters so far.

[color=red]Quorra [No Duplicate-Glory’s Jewel] - my second homebred. Her dam never won but I managed to book her to No Duplicate (and Rahy) before he was pensioned. He’s a proven sire, so I hope that translates to something awesome from this giant filly.

[color=red]U.R. A Shinin Star [I’m A Classic-Party For One, by Lonesome Glory] - another homebred! I got the strangest feeling that she might make a good steeplechaser. A 3/4 sibling of hers is a stakes winner.

[color=red]Rahy On The Rocks [Rahy-Icy Honor] - bred her from a leased mare. Icy Honor’s an okay broodmare but Rahy’s something else.

[color=red]A.P. Impala [A.P. Indy-Chicks Are Better] - homebred. Haven’t had too much luck with the A.P. Indy I have, but I hope that’s just a fluke.

[color=red]Crownless [Chivalry-Redhead StpChld] - got her from the Color Wars. Her sire’s first crop is just two, so I have no idea what to expect from her.

So now we have two - one is [color=red]Hadriana that I just got from the auction, and we also have [color=red]Embellished, a filly that was born in May so although she’s a 2yo, we treat her as if she was a yearling now. We also have a pretty yearling colt [color=blue]Spiritus Movens, created from activity points. But he’s from June so probably will not race next year. Embellished is definetely the most exciting one of them :wink:

I will post about all my current yearlings, because I’m really pretty excited about all of them, and I only have three anyway.  :wink:

[color=blue]Alfresco
FFCh. Foolhardy (S) x Kelly Do (B)
I truly am excited about this guy because he has some handsome sprinting and classic dosage numbers. I hope that he’ll own the mile. Kelly Do was one of my starting horses and has thrown two winners out of two racers for me so far… My hope is that he’ll top that.

[color=blue]Noble 6
WCh. What’s Debatable (S) x Top Trick (B)
Dosage looks chillingly similar to Alfresco’s… Hopefully they both will live up to their expectations. Top Trick was generously leased to me and I can’t wait to see him run.

[color=red]White Picket Fence
ICh. Highland Magic (S) x Eclipse Di Luna
This is the first runner of her mother’s and I hope that she sets her breeding rank off to a good start. Dosage looks like she’ll shape up to be a strong sprinter. A beautiful little thing who looks just like mommy.

I have a lot of faith in these little ones… This is the year I started to figure out the breeding thing a little better, so we’ll see if that pays off!

Three that I’ve bought as yearlings

[color=red]Andolay (WCh. Gotta Go X Arriba Reba).
This girl’s a Jan foal and already up to her bottom height estimate. Lokking forward to see what she wants to do.

[color=red]Hide n Peek (Sneak Peek X Bounding Storm)
Could be a dirt star, but she’s still small so might have to wait a while. (formally Cal Sweet)

[color=red]Madear(King David X Ocean’s Finest)
The best bred of the lot. I hope she’ll turn out well. Probably running on Dirt. Her full sister didn’t do much this year but her 1/2 had an excellent 2yo as has her Dam’s half sister. Could be good

You definitely don’t have a very long time to rename her! Some off the top of my head:

Looming Storm, Bound to Sneak, Hide n’ Peak, Storm Peaks, Thunder in a Jar, Sneak Attack, Storm Conspiracy, Torrential Rain, Hailstorm, Deceptive, Preview, Weather Forecast, In the Forecast, Hurricane Winds, Future Rain/Storms, Hurricane Cal, Looks like Rain, Sudden Storm, Suddenly a Storm, Stormofthecentury (might fit, lol), Bound to Be.

Thanks Shelbie, I like Hide n’ Peek

At this point (hahaha) we’ll have 22 two-year-olds hitting the track next year.

[color=blue]Air Raid is from the first crop of Smart Strike. Will be interested to see how he does as a sire in the game, he’s certainly hot in real life! Air Raid is also the first foal out of Ch. Be Kipper whom we created and campaigned.

We are pretty excited about [color=red]Aoibheal, a daughter of FFCh. High Chances (S) out of the created mare Street Talk (G). High Chances is still in the early stages of his stallion career, his oldest foals will be 4yo’s next year. So far he’s done pretty well with 75% winners from runners and 16% stakes winners. Street Talk is the dam of 14 foals, all but two of them winners and the one is a 2yo so there’s plenty of chances for that one to break his maiden! She’s had a very successful career as a broodmare with 4 of her foals stakes winners and 3 of those multiple stakes winners including GCh. Street Wise (a Silver rated stallion) and GCh. Goliath.

[color=blue]Boo Radley is a son of GCh. Go For Dash (S) out of the Alydar mare Kill A Mockingbird. Go For Dash, now a retired stallion, saw great success in the breeding shed early in his career with progeny the likes of GCh. Hollywood Dash, ICh. Devil His Due and WCh. Gotta Go. Since then his progeny have had a bit of a tough time finding success but he does have small crops and does boast a 89% winners from runners. His 2yo’s next year will be one of his biggest crops so it will be interesting to see how they do.

Boo Radley is the first foal out of Kill A Mockingbird a multiple winner over fences, it will be interesting to see if he has any ability on the flat.

[color=red][Clemency is one of 8 Candidate two-year-olds we’ll have next year. ICh. Candidate had a quick jump start to his stallion career with 6 of his 7 foals in his first crop winners with one also a multiple stakes winner at two. His first crop of foals include multi-millionaire GCh. Madam President and MSW’s Ch. Solicitant and Ch. Super Tuesday. His foal crops have been small with only 13 foals of racing age. He has a good sized crop of 2yo’s next year so there should be more of a feel for how he’ll be as a sire.

Clemency is the first foal out of the GCh. Backseat Driver mare At World’s End, a multiple winner on the dirt.

[color=red]Good Intentions is another ICh. Candidate foal. She is the second foal out of the created mare Your Union, a multiple winner on dirt and turf. Your Union’s first foal is a 2yo and has won twice on the dirt.

[color=blue]Honor Guard is the third of our ICh. Candidate army. His dam Ch. Time For Honor is a daughter of Closing Time and was a stakes winner on the dirt. Her first and only foal of racing age is a two-year-old with 2 wins on the turf.

[color=red]Incandescent is yet another ICh. Candidate foal. Her dam Ch. Golden Quest is a daughter of the great sire and broodmare sire Rainbow Quest. She herself was a multiple winner over fences and was also multiple stakes placed over fences. This is her first foal.

[color=blue]Lupin is, you guessed it, another ICh. Candidate. He is out of the Satin Romance mare, Romance Me who is a half-sister to my starter horse and one of my favorite mares, Ch. Romancer who sadly died after giving birth to her first and only foal. So when we got the chance to buy one of her sister’s foals we jumped on it! Romance Me has produced 8 foals all of which are winners minus the 2yo who finished second in his last start. Her most notable foal is Ch. Not Another Mare a multiple G1 winner on the turf.

[color=red]Skater’s Brush is the sixth ICh. Candidate foal we have. She is the first foal out of Ch. Baby Book, a mare we created who was a multiple winner on dirt and turf and was also stakes placed on both surfaces.

[color=blue]Skulk is a son of ICh. Candidate, yes we’re still on those Candidate foals! He is the first foal out of the Gallant Fox mare Vixen who was a winner on turf and a multiple winner over fences.

[color=blue]Toothless rounds out the ICh. Candidate roster. He is the first foal out of the Heza Gallant Gent mare Ch. Sheza Belle. Sheza Belle was a winner and multiple stakes placed on the turf and was a multiple winner and stakes placed over fences as well.

[color=red]Diversion is a daughter of the highly regarded and now unfortunately deceased GCh. Highland Laird who is the sire of such names as FFCh. High Chances, ICh. Eternal Lady, ICh. Spectacular Lady, NCh. Formal Occasion and GCh. One Star Affair. His younger crops haven’t produced much spectacular yet but we know he’s capable of doing so!

Diversion’s dam, Ch. Detour is a daughter of the famous Cross Roads and she herself was a stakes winner over fences. Diversion is her first foal.

[color=blue]Fool Proof is a son of Point Given (S) who is a very nice sire with 32% stakes winners and 15% MSW’s including the likes of ICh. What’s Your Point, NCh. Get the Point, GCh. Go Home and GCh. Raindrops on Roses among others.

Fool Proof is the first foal out of Ch.Foolish Pride a multiple turf winning daughter of NCh. Boldness Shows.

[color=blue]Justa Bob is another son of silver rated Point Given. His dam Delaware Flyer was a mare we got back when the New Player Auction was still alive and though she never broke her maiden she has proven very valuable to us in the broodmare band. From 3 foals to race, all are winners. Her first foal GCh. Delaware Bound was a nice dirt horse, winning a few stakes races including the G1 Futurity as a 2yo. He also had wins over fences and was stakes placed on hurdles as well. Delaware Flyers other two foals of racing age are also both stakes placed. We are pretty excited to see what this guy can do.

[color=blue]Head of State is a son of Silver rated A.P. Indy who boasts 27% stakes winners and 15% multiple stakes winners including many national and grand champions.

His dam, Kelly King is a silver rated create mare with 100% winners from 8 foals to run including 2 stakes winners. Head of State is her last foal, she was euthanized after complications from colic about two months after being weaned.

[color=blue]Lucky Devil is another son of A.P. Indy. He is out of the Almost Home mare, Ain’t I Pretty. Ain’t I Pretty was the second horse I had on FF she was very good to me as a new player, winning on dirt, turf and over fences. We really looked forward to her foals but it was a tough few years the beginning of her career as a broodmare. Both of her first foals were stillborn at birth and we despaired of getting a live healthy foal out of her. Finally, her third try to become a mother was successful and thus ‘Lucky Devil’ was born. Really hope this guy can do some nice things!

[color=blue]Socialist is our third and final A.P. Indy foal for the year. His dam GCh. Soviet Nights was a very nice filly for us as a two and three-year-old with 9 wins, six of them stakes wins. This is her first foal.

[color=blue]Optical Illusion is a son of silver rated ICh. Dark Continent. Dark Continent has had a promising start at stud with his first foals 2yo’s he has 50% winners from runners and 15% stakes winners. He’s been doing pretty good at stud considering his competition is Nightfight!

His dam, Phantom Melody is a silver rated create mare. She’s been a solid producer with all 10 of her foals winners and 3 of them stakes winners including millionaire GCh. Townsend Phantom.

[color=blue]Psychic is a son of NCh. Seattle Sorcerer (S) who’s had a bit of a tough time at stud but does have 70% winners and 19% stakes winners.

His dam Ch. City Runner is a create mare who was a multiple winner on the turf. Her oldest foal, a 2yo by Boldness Shows is as of yet unplaced.

[color=blue]Scintillating is from the final crop of Almost Home, a silver rated sire of such horses as ICh. Almost Precious, NCh. Almost a Star, NCh. My Stupid Girl and GCh. Harvard Bound.

His dam, Ch. Brightly Burning was a stakes winner on dirt and a winner over fences. She is silver rated with 10 foals of racing age, all of them winners including two stakes winners and three others stakes placed. Brightly Burning is also the daughter of Shining, a silver rated mare whose fillies so far are nice consistent producers.

[color=red]Bold Tune is a daughter of silver rated GCh. Simply Heroic. He’s had a bit of an average career in the shed so far, though he does have 70% winners from runners.

Her dam Glittery Tune is an unraced create mare who has two foals of racing age, a 5yo who has yet to race and a 3yo who is a winner on the turf.

[color=blue]Spectrum is one that is going to be near and dear to us, he is a 1/2 brother to the afformentioned Romancer, it would be really sweet if we could get him studified! He looks like he might have a good chance at that, he’s a son of silver rated stallion WCh. Crystal Rainbow who has 58% winners, which is low but his foals look like they might mature a little later with a lot of his 2yo’s still trying to find their land legs. This would make sense seeing as Crystal Rainbow didn’t do his best running until he was a four-year-old.

Spectrum’s dam, Believe Me is a silver rated unraced created lines mare. All 10 of her foals but her 3yo are winners with 4 stakes winners, two of them multiple stakes winners and millionaires.

It’s hard to pick favourites from a set of 58, but here are some highlights.

[color=blue]King’s Knight - ICh. Chivalry x NCh. Crowned - Chivalry has a SW from 4 to race, dam was a MSW on the track. His big sister is unplaced in 3 starts, but hasn’t been tried since last June.

[color=blue]Indy’s Flight - A.P. Indy (S) x GCh. Endless Flight - would love to see another Indy son at stud. First foal from a MSW mare.

[color=red]Hemisphere - Octagonal x GCh. Heartoftheocean - excited to see what Octagonal’s babies can do. First foal from a MSW mare.

[color=red]Millennium Star - Rock of Gibraltar x ICh. Priceless - also excited to see what ROG babies will do. First foal from a MSW mare.

[color=red]Can’t Fool Me - FFCh. Foolhardy (S) x FFCh. Can’t Catch Me - probably my most anticipated 2yo to race. :slight_smile: First foal from CC, and a double-FFCh. bred. Yay!

[color=red]Indy’s Moment - A.P. Indy (S) x Fleeting Moment (G) - final foal from gold-ranked mare, half-sister to MSWs Fleet Street, Lady Rogue, Fleet Pride, Trail of Smoke, and Temporary Insanity.

[color=red]Showmethemagic - NCh. Gimme A Shot (B) x Highland Sorceress (G) - final foal from gold-ranked mare, half-sister to MSWs Highland Wizard, Seattle Sorcerer, Spellbound, Black Magick, Rhiannon, and Houdini.

I’m only sending five two-year-olds to the track. My bank account is happier this way. :slight_smile:

I’m most excited about these two colts:
[color=blue]Prince Charming by A.P. Indy and out of Von Hollywood (by Planet Hollywood). He was born on February 1 and stands a strong 16.1 hands, which is already towards the upper limit of his expected height range. He is the first of Von Hollywood’s foals to hit the track, but A.P. Indy and Planet Hollywood looks like a promising match, so I’m quite hopeful he’ll be a good runner.

[color=blue]Dizzy Rhythm is an early March colt by Worth My While and out of Earth Angel. Earth Angel is a solid producer, so it will be fun to see what Dizzy can do. Presently 15.1 hands, he may end up being a later bloomer than Prince Charming.

I’ll also be interested in my filly, [color=red]Angel Investor, from the first crop by Holy Bull and out of silver-ranked Venture Capitalist.

I’ve got seven two year olds hitting the track this year, all fillies and I’ve got high hopes for all of them, but most especially these…

Moonlit Lane

She’s a little blood bay, standing at 14.2 hh by Nch. Moonover Boy and out of Penny Lane (Lit De Justice).  Penny’s racing was kind of sporadic, but she did well enough when she went out, and of course her sire is a MSW, MSP, Multi-millionaire, so we’re hoping she takes after her daddy.  :stuck_out_tongue:

[color=red]Sunshine Wishes - I always meant to change her name, because I wasn’t thrilled with it, but forgot.  Oh well.

She by WCh. As You Wish out of Soleil (created lines).  A lovely dark bay girl who stands at 15.2 hh.  Soleil was a decent runner, but I was new when I got her and pretty much an idiot, so I retired her to brood as soon as she turned four.  -.-  So, no real way of knowing how well she’d have done if I’d continued to run her.  And I’m sure everyone knows As You Wish, another MSW, MSP, Multi-Millionaire.  And now that I know better, here’s hoping she takes after daddy as well!  :smiley:

I like the name Sunshine Wishes. :slight_smile:
