It’s not so much that I dislike it, it really makes me think of summertime and how I wish it were here, but it’s more along the lines of it strikes me as a little bit…corny, I suppose. But I’ll live. XD I’m anticipating how well this girl will hopefully do for me, so the name’s not such a big deal.
It reminds me of the saying they used for lifestyles of the rich and famous, he always closed with Champagne wishes and caviar dreams. Which would be a cool name too!
We have a whopping 27 2YOs this year.
Sadly, my MOST anticipated foal of the season had to be leased out in order to increase the farm funds AND insure he would run under the colors of a stable who could front his stakes entries if he proves to be just as good as I suspect. And so, for all of 2016, [color=blue]FIGHT THE TWILIGHT will run under the capable hands of Cirque du Soleil. You guessed it - he’s a Nightfight son. But he is also out of HOTY ICh. Twilight Embers (x Irish River). Talk about a killer combination!
We may also end up selling some 2YOs in the future to cut back (26 is a lot to handle)…
But for now, of the ones we are slated to run, these are the ones that we can’t wait to get to the track:
[color=red]ALAKAZAM - Highland Magic x Aluwuhush, by Alydar - Sire has produced several MSWs so far, including Spock, who seemed invincible when he ran. Dam has produced mostly winners, but also SP Azhei. She already stands within her mature height range.
[color=red]BROOKE VALENTINE - created - Only because she stands a whopping 16.2hh and I tend to have better luck with createds.
[color=red]CATALAN BAY - Rock of Gibraltar x Wag The Dog, by created - Only because she is within her mature height range already. The rest is a mystery. Her only older 1/2 sibling is a filly by Nightfight who I am excited to enter into her 3YO year…so we’ll see!
[color=red]COMEDY QUEEN - High Chances x Queen of Humor, by created - Sire has been producing some pretty standout ponies in only 2 crops. Dam was a multi-winner who holds 3 speed records. This is her first foal.
[color=red]COQUETTE - Bellagio x Klondike Nights, by Black Knight - She stands a huge 16.1hh already. She is the oldest foal of her sire. Her dam is silver rated, having produced winners and SP Fire and Ice so far.
[color=blue]D’ANGELO - Strider x D’licious, by created - Because I’m excited to run a Strider baby. Sire has produced several stakes level ponies from his first crop to run.
[color=blue]DUCATI - Magic Cross x Pennysurprise, by Townsend Prince - Sire produced Ivy Creek’s personal best horse to ever run yet, a boy who justmissed being stud qualified, probably due to my naive management. Add to that his MSW dam, and I’m pretty excited to get this guy to the races.
[color=blue]NAZGUL - Jazz It Up x Poltergeist, by My Lucky Day - I’m excited to run a Jazz son. Plain and simple.
[color=red]QUEEN CATARINA - King David x Uptown Girl, by created - Stands 16.0hh. Plus her sire has produced some MSW monsters from relatively few horses to run.
[color=red]SINGSONG - Rahy x Keria Toon, by created - What’s not to love? She’s definintely one of the highlights. Rahy for a dad is love, and her dam was a stakes winner.
[color=blue]STAR OF LAKSHMI - Octogonal x The Cover Girl, by created - Dam is silver rated, producing 2 SWs so far. This will be dad’s first crop to run. I’m hoping one of the new created “famous” stallions will be the next Rahy. A girl can dream, right?
[color=red]TALKOFTHETOWN - Rumor Has It x CrossTheThreshold, by created - Dam has produced 2 MSWs, a SW, and a SP so far. I like the Planet Hollywood influence from the sire. I’m curious to see how it works out.
[color=red]WORTH A TREASURE - Worth My While x Highland Treasure, by Highland Laird - A Worth lined sire crossed with a Rogue lined dam. And Worth My While was perhaps Worth’s most successful son in the breeding shed - he was a personal favorite of mine, anyway, especially due to his accessibility. This girl has got some impressive dosages.
[color=red]XCIENTIST - Crystal Rainbow x Fizzix, by Seabiscuit - Probably will be a late maturer and spend most of 2016 growing up at the farm, but I am still excited nonetheless. Sire has produced several stakes level ponies, and the dam is 1/2 to 3 MSWs, including Torrid, a personal favorite.

[color=blue]Dark Spell Highland Wizard ex Hollywood’s Lover (Planet Hollywood) is on the small side at 14hh but hopefully he’ll have some talent. He arrived via the Stillwater auction.
