Yay! MacBook Pro!

I just got my brand new MacBook Pro (15", 2.4GHz, 4gb ram, etc). It’s the sexiest beast of a laptop ever created! ;D Love it.

I’m jealous.   I get mine once I sell my horse.

I’m not allowed to get a laptop because my dad’s afraid I’ll get mad at it and throw it across the room… [Shanthi, where’s the innocent Angel smiley?!]

I wouldn’t tho. A MacBook Pro? Please. I’d keep it nice and safe at all times! <3 MacBooks!

Lucky lucky Jason…

Congrats!

I’m jealous too, I keep praying that my 3yr old Toshiba Satellite will die and I’ll have a reason to buy a Macbook-unfortnately it just won’t so I can’t justify buying one yet :frowning: ! lol

You’re selling your grey mare who is an ex-racehorse?

Yeah I love this thing. I FINALLY made the switch to Mac! I’ve been telling Shanthi I’ll get one for God knows how many years! It’s amazing how fast these beast go from off to fully functional! No more stupid windows loading… They seem really easy to use too. And with this new Boot Camp thing (and Leopard OSX in October) I can boot windows if I really want to play some windows only games.

Shanthi… One question… With games that have been re-developed for Mac, do they run just as well as they would in Windows? Basically, what is better - a game done by say Aspyr for Mac, or the original done for Windows? (I wanna get a couple of games and I don’t know whether to get the Mac version or just boot Windows and get the Windows version).

No, I’m selling my bay mare who is an ex-racehorse.

I’ve never run Boot Camp, so I’m not sure.  I would guess the versions made for the Mac would be better, though, as the hardware is streamlined for the OS X system.  If you already have games for windows, though, you may as well just keep them and run them in Boot Camp.  I’ve played several re-designed games on the Mac (Neverwinter Nights, mostly) on my little 800mhz iBook (before it died) and they ran just fine.

I have a Toshiba Satellite too, but I’m quite fond of it.  ;D  I’ve heard that Macs are amaing, though I’ve never used one. Run a lot faster, and a lot more user friendly, I’ve heard? I guess the going from off to being ready to run without waiting for Windows to load is a good example of it moving faster… My mom wants a Mac someday, maybe I can talk to her about a MacBook Pro…

The Mac pro is a great machine. I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for that Toshiba to drop dead. Now if you had a Sony or Gateway on the other hand you’d have a good chance  All in all I’m just waiting to be able to watch the races here  since I hooked up a desk top to my 42"TV ;D

I’m officially jealous.

I love my MacBook, but oh to have a MacBook Pro…

I  bought my MacBook last summer, after I picked up the IBM ThinkPad that was included in my college tuition. Two months of using that rotten no good piece of nonsense, and I couldn’t take it any more… I needed relief. The StinkPad’s long gone now (it died in about four different ways, and I gave it back, but I never really figured out how to make it work anyway) and I swear I’ll never touch another one of those things again. Ever.

LOL @ StinkPad! ;D

Yeah… I had to use one of those evil things at my last job. Never again I hope!

Yeah, I got my Toshiba as a “here, now go to college” present after HS graduation and I’m actually surprised at how reliable its been, especially considering the price. I haven’t had any problems besides user induced ones(like not having an anti-virus for 2yrs-yes I’m THAT stupid, caused me to have to do a clean install on it and now the thing is absolutely problem free…unfortunately-I thought I was SO close to having an excellent reason for a new computer). Anyway, it may be reliable but its not as cool as the MacBook Pro’s, GO JASE!
