We are sad to announce that one of our most prolific broodmares, [color=red]Whistlin’ Dixie, has died at the ripe old age of 20.
Dixie only ran twice in her racing career, however, it was when she was Retired to Stud that she excelled. Her first foal was born in 2010 and she produced 12 foals in total, although she did have one Stillborn foal, a filly by [color=blue]Usain Bolt. Of her 11 live foals, all 9 of her progeny who have raced so far have been winners, including 6 Stakes Winners, 4 of which went on to be MSW and Millionaires. Her progeny averaged $800k+ in earnings and she ended up Platinum Ranked (9.7). One of her sons, [color=blue]GCh. Superdocious, is Stud-Qualified and his first crop of foals are expected to hit the track this year. Two others just failed to qualify, one, [color=blue]GCh. Cup O’ Tea, missed qualification by 1 SW and the other, [color=blue]GCh. Shiloh’s Hill, is currently 2 SW short of qualification. She also has two daughters who had joined her in the Breeding Sheds, [color=red]Ch. Bonnie Blue Flag & [color=red]GCh. Princess Kaiulani.
She had been Retired from Breeding after delivering her last foal, a colt by [color=blue]Usain Bolt.
She was always a favorite at the Farm and will be sadly missed.
