So I have had an early arrival… Very early… I hope he’s the only one… He’ll be sold at some stage.
Getouttamyway was not waiting for anything deciding to pop out on 21 December. He’s come in at 8.3h, so not ridiculously small. His sire is Lasting Spirit and his dam is Finest Flyer. He’s not one of my more stellar foals due this year, but I’m happy he’s healthy!
I have two more due early January (one on the 4th and the other on the 6th) so here’s hoping they hold out!

Summary: one foaled (one colt, no fillies), none stillborn, no deceased mares, 59 foals left for 2015
Orchestrator [Cryptic Ballad x Flute (Worth The Wait)] was born today and has come out at a whopping 15.1h. I assume this is a bug, otherwise we would have had a very uncomfortable mare as her mum is only 14.3h… Marked for future sale, this filly has nice lines - Cryptic Ballad was a good runner and her dam is stakes placed at grade one level.

Summary: two foaled (one colt, one filly), none stillborn, no deceased mares, 58 foals left for 2015
Finally, another foal! Still showing as having on due on 6 January so not sure what that one is waiting for…
I’myourluckynumber [Strike It Rich x Sweet Sayings (Who Says)] was born today healthy today at 8.3h. This filly will be sold eventually. Sire Strike It Rich was a great sprinter (but did win stakes at classic distances) and her dam was a consistent allowance runners as a 3YO (though she comes from a family of stakes calibre horses). Sweet Sayings has gone to Prince of Wonder for her next foal.

Summary: three foaled (one colt, two fillies), none stillborn, no deceased mares, 57 foals left for 2015
Commuter [Stressed x Rocket Fast (Turbo Tide)] arrived today at 8.1h. She’ll most likely will appear in a sale at some stage. She’s by ICh. Stressed who was a fantastic racer in his day. She’s out of Rocket Fast who is Silver-rated with a couple of nice stakes foals to her name including Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner NCh. Rocket Fuel. Damline extends to Reine-de-Course mare Bold Move. She was named after my atrocious trip to work this morning on the London Tube.

Summary: four foaled (one colt, three fillies), none stillborn, no deceased mares, 56 foals left for 2015
[rant]Seriously Shanthi… This morning was a nightmare! I got trapped in Bank for about 15 minutes on the platform because of overcrowding. I was lucky though - got off my train and then the following trains were all not allowed to stop - there was literally a platform full of people and we couldn’t get out of the station - it was a nightmare. The Jubilee line was to blame - broke down so everyone trying to get to Canary Wharf was trying to change at Bank for the DLR. My daily trip on the Jubilee plus Northern line is torture and of course they are the two worst and crowded lines on the network! I should really catch the bus that leaves from outside my apartment and stops basically outside my work, but I HATE the bus more than the Tube…[/rant]
They say the Tube is the best and worst thing about London…
I was at Bank when they decided that obviously the best solution to overcrowding due to everyone wanting the northern/central line is to NOT stop both lines and instead just hope everyone leaves. Yeah, everyone will just give up on going to wherever they’re headed and instead sit outside Bank forever. I ended up wandering around towards Monument before hailing a bus. (I prefer the bus to the tube, since it’s usually way less crowded, but the overground’s the best comfort-wise, assuming it doesn’t show up 10min late like it did for me this morning.)
Ha! You must’ve been there around the same time as me this morning. Yeah - the Overground is the best. I rarely use it though - doesn’t seem to go anywhere relevant for me. I also think it is ridiculous they put prices up and still can’t get things right. I mean how long does it take to refurb an escalator?!
Olympics shall be interesting. Watch things work like clockwork for a few weeks and then go completely to custard. Another note, I still don’t get the ~12:30am last Tube thing. Don’t they realise some folk like to stay out until 2:00am+?! Night buses are evil.
Saint Patrick [Yes It’s Paddy x Last Hope (Created)] arrived today at 8.0h. He’s a nice looking chestnut boy - love the Irish connection and the fact he’s red! He’s by a nice, young stud. He’s out of Last Hope who is a Silver-rated mare who’s every raced foal is a winner and five of seven are stakes quality. The damline is from the Gold-rated Reine-de-Course mare Eternal Hope who has a fantastic legacy in the game. Potentially a sale horse.

Summary: five foaled (two colts, three fillies), none stillborn, no deceased mares, 55 foals left for 2015
Inside Man [Robin Hood x Truly Seattle (Seattle Slew)] arrived today at a whopping 10.0h. Either he’ll mature fast, or he’s going to be a big lad when he’s older! He’s by the impeccably bred Robin Hood who’s first crop has raced, but only consisted of two horses. Inside Man’s dam is Truly Seattle is also well bred being out of a titled mare and by Seattle Slew (excellent broodmare sire). She hasn’t have any of her foals race yet (a 3YO and a 2YO). Will be featured in our annual 2YO auction.

Summary: six foaled (three colts, three fillies), none stillborn, no deceased mares, 55 foals left for 2015
Dashing Illusions delivered a stillborn colt today… She’s off to Prince of Wonder in March. Would have been quite a nice foal. I really like Point Given.

Summary: seven foaled (three colts, three fillies), one stillborn, no deceased mares, 54 foals left for 2015
