Unexpected Health Issue

So sorry yesterday was rough. I definitely don’t mind the updates. I find it helps to type things out sometimes and this is a good, safe outlet.

I might need that BBQ beans recipe as the whole meal sounds delicious!

Take care, and I hope today is better!

Don’t mind the updates at all. Especially if posting here helps put your mind at ease a bit, by all means do it. Wish there was more we could do on our end, but just know we’re cheering for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery and the courage needed to keep your chin up in the meantime.

If it helps you feel better, by all means keep up the updates! For what it’s worth, I’ve lost my hair before for other medical reasons, and I know it can be a stressful experience. Getting a buzz cut was the best decision I made for myself–it helped me feel confident again. I hope it’s just as helpful for you <3 And it sounds like you are very loved!

Ah, I can imagine losing your hair is still a shock, even if you were expecting it. A buzz cut looks super awesome too, though , and thankfully hair keeps growing!

The good thing is that it sounds like you’re feeling better, I hope that improvement continues.

Well the whole story on Monday when I went to brush my hair a Hugh wad of hair came out. As I continued to brush I’d say 75% of my hair came out
for the next 2 days it came out to the point I looked like I’m not sure what, with tufts of hair hanging on (I had hair I could sit on) what I was left with looked like a foundation bred Appaloosa’s tail. I started laughing ended up crying.
Don (husband) offered to buzz my hair, so finally today I let him buzz it
Now I look like Uncle Fester from the Adams Family (I was laughing so hard).
Took a shower and I thought to myself I don’t need a towel for my hair. There is always some thing good to find in something so horrible as cancer.

I’m sure loosing you hair was a shock but I’m glad you’ve been able to find some humour in the situation.

Been a while since this was updated.so here is the recent news:

Just got a call from the chemo center that Dr. Dhanuka has order an infusion every 3 days for 5 sessions, this is on top of my once a week one. It starts Monday! This is so stressful because of the cost of gas which was already stressing things.
June has not been good to me. Had the car battery go and had to pay $219 for that and then 3 days later blew a tire which needed to be replaced which cost $120. (this was all put on credit cards that are now mostly maxed. What money I have in the bank is earmarked for other bills this month. I’m freaking out here!!

Oh no, sorry to hear that! I hope the extra sessions help, and you’re done with bad luck with cars.

Oh dear, that’s sad.
I went to pay my car insurance today (the prices went up here too!) and when I was waiting there was a free magazine, with an article about young student from Poland who is doing innovative cancer research. From what I understood, he’s trying to sensitize cancer cells with electrostimulation, to make it easier to inject them with drugs, and to activate healthy cells which can attack cancer cells more aggresively. He also said that cancer is now considered a sort of immunity disease and the goal is to not allow cancer cells to evade treatment. I’m not sure if I’m explaining it correctly… but his name is Wojciech Szlasa and some research papers are also online.
I hope your chemo goes well and you have no more money problems! Everything is getting so expensive these days. I’ll be cooking during the weekend to prepare food for the next week, so that nothing goes to waste as I will be super busy and unable to cook much.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a rough time with your car. The added financial stress on top of your health issues must be a worry and I hope things improve soon.

Another day to see one of my doc (breast cancer doc). I was told I would be having Radiation after I was done with chemo. I was hoping I would be able to skip that part. I guess I’m going to lose some weight at that time (not really looking forward to that).
