The 3rd foal has been born! Yay!

happy dance  Ok, yes, I’m a little late with this, as the first foal is nearly two weeks old, but things have been extremely hectic around my house with work and so on.  Anyways, out at my dad’s we have quite a few AQHs.  Most of them are geldings or mares.  No chance of any babies.  Or so we thought.  Dad forgot to get one of the mare’s stud colts gelded before the mares went into season.  Well, we now have two beautiful new babies (I don’t have pics unfortunately, although I do have some of the other horses) and are waiting on the last one to be born.  The only problem is that they can’t be registered like the rest of our horses.  :S  The stud’s breeder died before he could get Buddy registered and so now, all these foals are unregistered.  Buddy has now been gelded, but the two foals, unfortunately can’t be gelded as they’re fillies.  sigh  Oh well, they’ll make good riding horses.  :stuck_out_tongue:  When I can find some pictures of the other horses, I’ll put them up.  Hmmm…I think I know where they are, but I need to double check first.

[edit]Found some on my photobucket account.  Hopefully this link works.  :stuck_out_tongue:

Rosie’s new foal, born 4/21/08, isn’t he gorgeous?  I love his color

[edit again] It worked, but it wasn’t what I wanted, try again.  :stuck_out_tongue:

Guess it’ll have to do.

Ok I’m done now.   ;D

[one more edit and I’m done]
I just found some pictures of the new babies on my sister’s myspace page, so I snagged them.   I have got to get out there and see them.  :stuck_out_tongue:  The one picture I think was taken with a cell phone, cause my sister has a really good camera, and this isn’t a great picture.

Cookie’s filly

Missy’s foal (she won’t let anyone close enough to say for sure that it’s a filly, but we think it is)

Well he’s a handsome boy even if he wasn’t meant to be a stud. Hope the babies turn out ok, sounds like everything will be fine.

Thanks!  I’m sure it will.  Unfortunately, he won’t be quite so pretty anymore once he heals up.  One of the other horses got after him the other day and chased him straight through one of the fences.  :stuck_out_tongue:  Dad said he looks like someone took a boxcutter to his side.  Ouch!

Oh they’re all so cute!!!

Thank you!  They’re a little on the fat side right now.  I don’t get out there much with gas being so expensive and Dad’s place is over 30 minutes from my house, so I don’t get to ride much.  Dad mostly uses Casper and Dusty to deal with the cattle, but he’s working with Buddy.  He’d sent Buddy off to be trained, but we don’t like the way it was done.  Before Buddy left, he was the sweetest horse, would let you do anything to him, and now he spooks at every little thing.  :frowning:

Found a better picture of both Missy’s foal and Cookie’s foal.  I’m not so sure that I like Cookie’s foal too much, but maybe it’s just the angle of the camera that makes her neck look so strange.   ???

Missy’s foal, I love her face.

And Cookie’s foal, is it just me or does she look strange?
i125.photobucket.com/albums/p51/ … 72f847.jpg

I don’t know why I thought she was younger than she is.  She was born in December and for some reason I thought she was born much more recently.  I don’t know what I was thinking.  :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm yeah. The Foal does look a little disproportionate. But it may just be the camera angle or where she’s standing. It looks to me like she has a either a short or bull neck, its hard to tell. But prob. won;t be a bad looking horse after it sheds its fuzzy baby coat, etc.

Missy’s foal is super cute though!! The face is adorable!

I think that it’s just the angle of the foal’s neck that makes it look so strange. They are both super adorable though!

The third foal was born yesterday!  He’s a beautiful little colt.   Oh, and Cookie’s foal is…well, she’s not exactly bull-necked or anything, it’s more that her head seems to be disproportionate in size to the rest of her.  :S  I told my dad since no one else would claim her that she was now officially mine!  I’ve always picked the underdog.  lol.  I think she’ll pretty up once she sheds out and grows into her legs.  ;D

Cookies filly looks very much like a foundation Quarter Horse foal… lots of hip and built to work cattle… my dad would love her… lol…

Yeah, her sire is being trained to work cattle, the rest of them just get to be fat and happy most of the time.  I imagine that once she gets old enough, Dad’ll have her trained to work cattle as well.  He also happens to like her better than he does the other two, and I think that’s mainly because of how sturdy she is.  She’s the thickest 4-month-old foal I’ve ever seen.  :stuck_out_tongue:
