When do broodmares become eligible for broodmare Taxes? When they are bred or when their Status is changed to Broodmare?
I had a filly, Coco Diablo, that I wanted to Retire to Stud for next year. I changed her Status to Broodmare yesterday and noticed that I will now have to pay an additional $3,000 taxes for her as a broodmare. If I had realized that this would happen, I would have waited until next Thursday to make the change.
Oh well, you live and learn.
Can you please remind me when Taxes are withdrawn from our accounts? I was looking through my records to find out when last years taxes were taken out but couldn’t find it.
