Mama was due at end of December and we’ve been watching her heavily doing all we could to keep baby in until after January 1st but Starry said nope to our plans and delivered during the night. Both are healthy which is a blessing… still crossing our fingers our group of mamas due in early January keep those babies in their bellies for the next three weeks.
Congratulations on the healthy filly. Shame she wanted to make an early appearance but glad both mum and baby are doing well.
Oh, mama, don’t do that! I’m glad both baby and mare are healthy but we never want to see those December foals. I have FIVE due at the end of the month and I hope they all choose to be late.
Agreed. I’ve only had two mamas (including Starry) deliver in December. I don’t plan on racing this baby as a two year old. Didn’t start the other one until three as well.
