Slew O’Scots was a horse who prospered when steeplechasing. He had a limited try on dirt as a two-year-old, placing 4th in his only stakes attempt. After the switch to jumps, he won 1/3 of his races, including the Heritage Stakes (part of the SC Triple Crown) twice. Kermit almost needs no introduction. He raced for 5 years, winning 17 stakes races and over $8 million. He literally did it all - not only did he set almost a dozen speed records (at distances ranging from 6.5 furlongs to 16 furlongs), but he won the Breeders’ Cup SC Endurance twice, and won the first two legs of the Triple Crown.
