Starview 2014 foals

Not one New Year’s foal, but two!

The first is Wishstone, a gorgeous bay colt by World Champion As You Wish, the first foal of Bright Gem. She will be bred back to Foolhardy.

The second is a lovely dapple grey colt by Almost Home, out of Crystal Clear, whom we are naming Crystal Palace. Crystal Clear is booked to I’m Your Angel.

Now I need fillies…

And my wish is apparently the filly fairy’s command.

Greek Fire popped out a lovely black filly by ‘The Fighting Fifty’.

To the annoyance of racetrack announcers everywhere, she has been named ‘Thermopylae’

(Sorry. But I couldn’t resist).

Greek Fire has been booked to Seattle Sorcerer.

Very cute names and we can only hope for many stretch duels for Thermopylae lol

(The foaling script is…weird…hopefully this baby won’t somehow vanish again)

Broken Promises produced another colt for us, by Count Me In. He’s named ‘Deal Me Out’.

Broken Promises will be bred to Nightfight for her next foal.

Darnit, enough of the colts!

Two more boys today.

Angelus is by WCh I’m Your Angel, out of Forever One, a pretty dark grey and pretty big…just under 10 hands at birth, so he’s going to be a big one (Yes. He is named after the Buffy character. So sue me).

Forever One is being bred back to King David.

Slightly shorter, but still not small. Crimson Text gave us a colt by Devil His Due. Hopefully his name, Necronomicon (inevitable) won’t bring him ill luck on the track.

Crimson Text is booked to Highland Wizard.

Make that Highland Laird as the booking apparently didn’t go through and now he isn’t available when I want him. Or did he get retired on me? I dunno. I DID do this after going six rounds with a thousand pound opponent.

Thank goodness a filly.

This one’s by Magic Glory, out of Hard Times. She is being named Terlingua Red (on the menu, of course, at the Hard Times Cafe).

I’ve taken my studs down from breeding until I get a chance to figure out my mares (hopefully tomorrow). Then I’ll re-open my studs’ books.

Congrats on all the beautiful babies…I love all the names.

We found ourselves with another healthy filly today…Denim Silk’s foal by What’s Debatable.

She’s named ‘What Not To Wear’. Of course. And she’s going to turn grey. Mmmm…grey.

And yay for another healthy filly, out of Southern Treasure and by Boldness Shows. She’s a lovely light chestnut and has been named Bold Treasure unless I think of something better.

A jet black colt today, by Cryptic Ballad, out of Oblivious.

We’re calling this one ‘Codetalker’.

Two more today

Sixth Gear threw a good big dark grey colt by I’m Your Angel. He’s been named Watkins Glen.

And we also have another filly, State Wedding, by National Post, out of Herecomesthebride.

Watkins Glen State Park is beautiful (went hiking there a couple times as a kid).  Probably not the Watkins Glen to which you were referring, but man… it is beautiful.

chases the testosterone fairy away

And no, all of Sixth Gear’s foals are being named after race tracks. Watkins Glen is actually one of the most famous of the road courses.

Now, another colt.

Actors Strike is by Takemetohollywood, out of Blackout. He’s a nice one…black. Mmm. Black…

Okay. PLEASE go visit somebody else’s barn, colt fairy? Please.

Another one, this time by Starzen, out of Ferdinand’s Image. He’s a big, bay guy named Ferdinand’s Star.

Last year, Serenity lost a colt by National Post.

Although somewhat disappointed its another colt, we’re pleased to announce the repeat attempt is perfectly healthy.

His name is Simon Tam

Congrats!  Great looking colt.

I’ll be praying for you to get some fillys in the future.

Congrats on the healthy foal. Love the name! I’m guessing you’re a Firefly fan?

Yes, and really, given the name of the mare…
