Seeing as we’re going
through this whole cool thing with finding lineage through the chef-de-race thing, maybe we
should have awards for sires too?
I’m not sure what there is over in the US, but maybe
catagories like…

Leading First Season

I dunno, just a random idea I had that might be kinda helpful for people when it
comes to breeding time. Plus, as an advantage for stallion owners, it would hike the value of
your stud up heaps if he won an award at the end of the year. 
Yay? Nay? Thoughts?
I think it would be cool but
I have a feeling one or two studs would dominate all the categories. Still sounds cool
though.
Yeah… But that’s alright,
cos it happens in RL too. I mean Danehill dominated 2YO sire and champion sire [maybe 3yo
sire] over here for ages, well, right up until he died pretty much. of course first season
changes every year though, so that’s quite cool.

enh, I think that’s getting
towards too many awards. It’s up to Shanthi obviously, but I dunno.
I know we have heaps of
racehorse awards, but we don’t really have anything to recognise some of the outstanding
sires in the game other than the chef-de-race thing. I’m sure that you wouldn’t complain if
one of your studs won Champion 2YO Sire… 
But yeah, we have a heap of awards so I guess
if we implement something then yay and if not then ohwell.

I might not complain, but I
wouldn’t really care either 
He can be at the top of the top 10 list and it’d be the
same thing. I just don’t want to have to read through all the extra crap in stud ads.
Hence why I never advertise my studs
Yeah, sorry Jason (and
everyone else who got excited by Jason’s idea despite its lack of pre-approval). No go. As
Andrea said, we already have a TON of awards, and we really don’t need any more. If your
stud sires amazing 2yos, just say that, and people can either believe you, or look up his
2yos to see for themselves.

Maybe if Shanthi or I get
horribly bored at some point we’ll put a button up showing foal race records for each
stud… so you could see total 2yo race records for all foals, total 3yo, etc. So like the
breakdown for horses’ races. But I’m not sure how taxing that’d be on the DB and it’s
unlikely to be a priority as there isn’t really any code to “steal” to do that. Just,
don’t expect it soon if at all.
That’d be kinda cool!
But yeah, we have enough way too awesome stuff coming up so I really don’t feel all that
worried about this kinda stuff…
