Server Update - Auctions

@highlandraider should be fixed.

Shanthi - Thanks for fixing all of these issues so quickly. There is one other issue I’ve noticed, albeit a minor one. On the main auction page, the YOB for all of the horses are showing as Real Time, not FF Time, eg. Puede Que Haya shows as YOB 2014, whereas, when you look at her Horse Information page, it shows that she was born in 2018.

Yep, this is a feature, not a bug. As stuff gets migrated over to the new database, it will display in real-time, vs FF time. (Just to be extra confusing  ) You’ll notice the auction timestamps are all in real-time now, too, vs FF time with the old version.

Thanks for the explanation.
As you said, it will be confusing to start with. but I, for one, will be happy with that. It gets so confusing trying to remember the difference between Real Time and FF Time. There have been a few instances where, after a long FF Session, I have found myself writing 2029 instead of 2025 on real life things, and have even done it on checks a couple of times. Fortunately, I noticed it before sending out the checks and was able to correct it.

I’m paranoid when I write dates because I do the exact same thing. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to pause and wonder, “Wait, what year is it actually?” :joy:

Looks like Ch. Der Blaue Engel is sold to me  that’s what Auction Summary says. But Generous Bloodstock should be the winning bidder:

Generous Bloodstock $10,500 2025-10-04 01:20:00
Starfish Stables $10,000 2025-10-04 01:19:59
Generous Bloodstock $1,000 2025-10-04 01:19:58

Edit: more sold horses and looks like they didn’t get transferred to new owners either.

OK, I think auction selling is working now. :crossed_fingers: Buyers/sellers, please let me know if anything looks weird, either with the horses or your budget.

Tipping The Velvet is showing as a lost bid for me, ‘lost’ to Clicker Lab. On my auction arch page it says there’s 42 minutes left but on the auction page itself it says she’s already sold (again to Clicker Lab). On the bidding summary it’s showing me as the only bidder.

To top it off, I don’t think she should be selling for another 6 hours or so as I was the first bidder and that was definitely less than 24 hours ago.

When I first looked st the Auction page this morning, there were a number of horses that were ‘Sold to Clicker Lab’, as has previously been reported.

I noticed that a couple of horses that I had bid on late yesterday, and which shouldn’t have sold yet, were among the ‘Sold to Clicker Lab’, however, horses that I had bid on more than 24 hours ago, showed as ‘Sold to Starfish Stables’.

I found that, if I clicked on any of my ‘Sold to Clicker Lab’ horses, their horse information pages showed that they were owned by Starfish Stables, and, when I went back to the Auction page, it showed them as ‘Sold to Starfish Stables’. I did the same for the rest of the ‘Sold to Clicker Lab’ horses and now they all seem to match their horse information pages.

The horses I ‘late bid’ on and whose Auction should still be going on, Fraulein Schlafrig and Ivo The Fickle, still show as ‘Sold to Starfish Stables’, however, my Auction Watch screen shows their auctions as still going on, as I would expect.

Shanthi - I don’t know if this information will help you identify where the bug is, apart from letting you know that the Auction Watch screens seem to be working okay.

BTW - I had first looked at the Auction this morning on my cell phone, using Safari, and have just gone on to my laptop, using Firefox, and the ‘Sold to’ horses all seem to be correct, apart for the fact that horses whose auctions should still be ongoing, still show up as Sold.

I think the issue with the sale time is time zones, and I don’t have the brainpower right now to figure it out. So I think horses will sell after 19 hours, not 24 hours.

@Andy this was actually pretty easy to do (at least to set up the auction, I still have to work on adding FF horses to it), so there should be an auction automatically created for the first Saturday of every month.

I like this but I think my FF bank balance might not!

Just to flag, the first FF auction looks like it’s due to start on Friday 31st October.

Fixed.

I just tried to bid on two horses, Hush Now and Make Some Sense. I placed bids with a max bid, was outbid, and then wanted to go back to increase my max bid, but now I don’t have the option to bid on the horses anymore. It also looks like it is saying the reserve for the horse hasn’t been met, even though the main bidding page says the reserve was met at $5K. I attached a screenshot of what the bidding page looks like.

Both issues should be fixed.

I’ve updated the code that handles the bids, so give a shout if anything looks weird.

It looks like I won the auction for Open Minded, but it is still listing her location as Clicker Lab.

Love it @Shanthi thank you!

It took me a while to find (more I think I’ve never set one up) lol

Is it possible to get it showing up in the main page once we get within 30 days or so, so it’s visible to everyone when they log on? I think this may really drive some engagement

Fixed - I think I also fixed the time zone thing so the last horse should sell after 24 hours.

By default it will show up when it’s a week out, but I could make that time longer.
