Excelsior is a Latin word meaning “higher.” It was popularly used by Marvel creator Stan Lee and is also the name of a Star Trek ship in some of the novelizations.
Excelsior is the fourth foal for SW/MSP Comm Badge. Her eldest, 3YO Dark Badge (Dark Demand), has yet to race, but I plan on starting her 2YO, Cadet (Candidate), when the 2YO races open in April. Comm Badge was a strong dirt runner who won over 25% of her starts and ended her career with a 53% OTB score. Combined with Ablative Armour’s background, Excelsior should be a strong dirt runner at least at the classic distances.

First foal for SW/MSP Chasing Gold, who was a dirt sprint specialist. She had the speed but not the endurance, so I’m hoping that her daughter was able to inherit some of Belanso’s success at the longer distances. Chasing Gold’s dam is gold-ranked, so fingers crossed she carries on her mother’s legacy.

Not sold on the name, definitely sold on the combo! Towering Clover became a mama for the first time when she delivered a gorgeous colt this morning.
During her career, Towering Clover was one of our stable’s power houses alongside Fractal, Tense Imagination, Powerful Soul, and Final Scene. She won 9 stakes races - including G1s Mother Goose Stakes and BC Filly & Mare Sprint - and placed 2nd or 3rd in 8 other races. If I remember correctly, she was also Edinburgh’s first stakes winner.
This colt should be a very solid dirt sprint and classic runner. Very much looking forward to seeing him start his career.

Was really hoping for a filly this year. Dreamfield has only produced colts out of four foals. She wasn’t extraordinary on the track, and her eldest, 3YO Celtic Dream (Celtic Star), is as of yet unplaced, so I don’t exactly have the highest hopes for her progeny. Still, she’s a sentimental favorite and I’d like to get a filly out of her some day.
Dreamfield is going back to American Pharoah for a try at getting a full-blooded sister for Dreaming Pharoah.

She is bred for turf at the classic level.

Wasn’t feeling especially inspired on names for this little one until I looked at the group conversation with my D&D friends. Lol. Spelljammer is a Treasure Planet-esque setting within the D&D universe.
Three Chances has more than earned her keep as a broodmare so far. Her 4YO filly National Covenant (Edinburgh) is a multi-winner, including the G1 Gazelle Stakes in September of last year. 3YO filly Pepperbox (Gunningdownromance) is only placed but has admittedly been lightly raced this year.
