Ruffian

Ruffian is on this Saturday as an ABC Saturday Movie.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before! I’ll have to DVR it because who knows where I’ll be saturday ::) I always plan to sit down and watch something, then I forget about it and remember seven hours later (or so!).

Not much of a TV fan either (I only watch House and Food Network =)) so, thanks for the heads up!

I put it on the DVR too(LOVE that thing)-watching it along with the Belmont on Sat, a good day for horse racing fans…

Well I guess not everybody is excited about the Ruffian movie this Saturday…Ruffian’s former trainer, jockey and owners are filling a 10million lawsuit against Disney for the movie since I guess Disney never bought the rights from them or consulted them…guess I can’t blame them in which case I hope Disney doesn’t do a total horrible hack job of this “made for TV” movie. I personally would have preferred they get the point of view of the ppl actually with her but…

what time and channel is it on? im central time zone.

Well for me its ABC at 8pm June 9th, but Central is 3hrs ahead so by that measure it would on at 11pm your time. I doubt its on that late so I would check www.tvguide.com

Er… C is Central, yes? lol. If so, it’s eight, cuz the East coast is the farthest ahead of the US time zones, right? And then its Central (hour behind), Mountain (two behind), and Pacific (three behind) going that way -points to west coast-

Erm… right?
-has lived in US for all sixteen years of her life-

I’m HOPELESS! lol!

Im such a sap, I don’t think I am actually going to watch this. Too many sad horse movies I guess

I pretty much end up finding all horse movies sad .  I’ve gotten much more emotional as I’ve gotten older about stuff, but horses are just such amazing creatures that when they get all melodramatic about stuff like horses breaking from starting gates or girls riding along on the horse they love (Flicka) it gets to me.  Of course, the Flicka affect may be due to still hating myself for selling my last horse, but that’s neither here nor there .

I’m planning on watching Ruffian, though I’ll have to do it later since my husband will be watching the College World Series then (our alma mater is playing my current school).

Spirit (the animated movie) made me cry SO hard. I’ve never cried over a movie so much in my life.

Insider? Entertainment tonight? Maybe it was the News? lol no idea. It had a clip about a guy who rescues old racing champions because he realized so many great horses were going to the slaughter house! I started crying right then and there when I saw the beautiful horses running in their pastures and thinking “How could someone just throw away a horse that amazing?” =(

It might be a local thing only, but my DVR listing shows that at 11am tomorrow (Sat) they’re showing an On the Set special (which I assume is sort of a behind the scenes thing).  It’s on from 11-11:30am EST on ESPN Classic.

well ill miss that one as i have a hair apt, but i will make sure to check out the ruffian one in the evening. I have her breyer likeness i think, i know i have secretariat and a couple of the others too. Cant wait to check it out, i know it will make me cry i cried thru the whole Barbaro tribute. so ill be prepared with a box of tissues. lol

Contrary to finding horse movies sad, I find I can’t watch them because I start picking at things that wouldnt have happened that way, or that are obviously fake >.>
Its in my nature.  All my non horsey friends like to see horse movies with me till I start ravings ‘MARTINGALES ARE ILLEGAL IN RACES!  WTF THAT HORSE ISNT EVEN GALLOPING’ and whatnot.

lol Ditto Edea, although that doesn’t keep me from watching them lol  but yeah, I pick at every detail and it drives me nuts!
