Early this morning Oakwood Farms first horse died while giving birth to a Secretariat filly. Luckily her filly was able to be saved and has been named Romantic Memory.

We are very saddened by the loss of this mare who was the start of the farm and who put her heart into racing for us. I will never forget the day she shocked me by winning a GII against the boys. May you rest in peace Romancer, we wish you hadn’t been taken from us so early in your life but we are very glad to have your filly here to continue your legacy.

Sorry about your mare, she was quite nice. :frowning:  At least you got a filly (by Secretariat, too) to carry on her legacy.
