We went to bring the mares in from the back field this morning and discovered Devil’s Own had passed away in the night. The 18yo mare retired after weaning her last foal (a filly by Dr. Evil) a few weeks ago, and had been enjoying lazing in the sun.
Devil’s Own produced 15 foals including MSWs Devil His Due, Strike Your Fancy, Hunter’s Hero, Fairy Cat, and Devil’s Price. We’re grateful her last two foals were fillies and look forward to her line continuing.
Awe sorry to hear that. We feel very fortunate to have Devil His Due as a living memorial for her. She was a great mare.
