RIP Ch. I'm Yours Joe

Ch. I’m Yours Joe (S), dam of WCh. I’m Your Angel, passed away in the late hours last night after her health took a sudden dive. She was retired in 2017 following foaling complications, an event that had left her pretty touch-and-go regarding her health over the last two years, but when she wasn’t feeling off she was a happy boss mare.

As a racehorse, I’m Yours Joe raced for 4 years, accumulating 155k in earnings and setting a SC speed record over 5.5 furlongs. She finished worse than 4th only once in 18 starts and managed two 4ths at the Ungr. Stakes level. A daughter of Second Chance § out of an unknown create stud, she was a half-sister to FFCh. High Chances (G), GCh. Steal Your Heart (B), and NCh. Shetan. As a producer, her best foal was by far WCh. I’m Your Angel (G), who already has one standing son in GCh. Beau Esprit and a second son, GCh. Naval Commander, who is almost stud qualified. Her other foals include SW Ch. Wizard Joe, Ch. Cup o’Joe, Ch. Field of Diamonds, and recent G2-winner Saint Joseph. We are especially lucky that her first foal is able to continue her line, and with great success, as she left behind just two daughters: stakes placed Heart Thunder is FF owned and has three foals on the ground, her eldest being an unplaced 2yo; and her final foal Best Choice who just hit the track earlier this year.

I’m Yours Joe was our best broodmare and we were sad to retire her so early after her acquisition. Best Choice is our only foal by her, but we enjoy watching I’m Your Angel’s stud career, and Saint Joseph beginning to flash serious promise as a chaser.

So sorry to hear her passing but i’m proud to own I’m Your Angel and continue her legacy through him. She was a fantastic mare!

Sorry to hear about her loss. May she RIP.
