I’ve never had a horse that could be retired to stud before until this year. My question is, is there a certain time you are able to retire them? I ask this because ‘stallion’ is not an option for Yes It’s Paddy and he is qualified.

Colts can only be retired to stud before the end of breeding season each year (to prevent people trying to do tax evasion 
).
He’ll be eligible for studship on Jan 1.
