I have had three broodmares retired in the past week who were all in foal for 2027 (two to Denoux Stallions and the third to one of ours).
Aphrodite was in foal to Ablative Armour but, if you look at his 2026 bookings, she is still showing in one of his Apr 30th slots.
This should be fixed going forward. In the meantime you can manually delete her booking if you want.
She had already been bred to Ablative Armour so I can’t delete her booking.
I have another broodmare (Golden Grace) that I was planning on putting in that slot but can’t until Aphrodite’s booking is removed.
Aphrodite’s slot ends today so I was hoping to get this breeding done quickly.
She is in foal for 2027 though. The breeding happened on Apr 16, so the fact that she retired 13 days later is irrelevant, she’s still pregnant.

I always thought that if a broodmare was retired while pregnant, the pregnancy would automatically end. That’s nice to know.

Nope - retirement just prevents her from being bred again going forward, it doesn’t abort the foal. It’s basically equivalent to her becoming infertile, so a future breeding wouldn’t work, but a current pregnancy is fine.
(Obviously death dates matter too, so she could retire in August and be pregnant and then die in December and lose the foal. But unless a mare is very unlucky she should have a few years to chill out as a retired lady.)
