We named her after the poem “To An Athlete Dying Young” by A. E. Housman. If it was a boy we might have named him “Michael Phelps” but…

Bad news from the foaling barn: [color=red]Magical Stone lost her foal, a colt by the now-retired [color=blue]NCh. Moonover Boy. She’s a bit baffled right now, but she’s taking it better than we expected.
Stone is shipping to Kentucky for a date with [color=blue]Giant’s Causeway. Fingers crossed for a healthy foal next year.

In other news, new baby in the barn! [color=red]UR A Shining Star is a tiny dark bay daughter by NCh. I’m A Classic (S)-Party For One, by Lonesome Glory (S). She is a 3/4 sibling to blacktype runner Ch. Classic Party, so fingers are crossed that this match proves golden. Party is shipping for a date with NCh. Void.

In the wee hours of Father’s Day [color=red]Icy Honor finally dropped her foal - [color=red]Rahy On The Rocks, by the red hot sire [color=blue]Rahy (of course). Seeing how so many of her half-siblings have names inspired by cocktails and what not, I thought I’d go along with the theme. She’s a well-sized blood bay with a white stripe and four white feet; she’s blingin’!
[color=red]Icy Honor will return to Final Furlong.

The boys are catching up as foaling season at RC Bee winds down in early summer.
Auction purchase and created mare [color=red]DreaminofAngels foaled a BIG dark bay colt (the fourth, I believe, in our current crop of five) by [color=blue]Alley Cat - [color=blue]Little Lion Man. I was going to name him “Dream Cat” but felt that was too much in the tradition of Storm Cat and his get, and inspiration struck when my playlist threw out “Little Lion Man” by Mumford & Sons so I named him after the song. He might end up at the sales or I might keep him and race him.
His giant of a mommy is going to visit As You Wish.

I saw Mumford & Sons two weeks ago at a smaller local SD venue, and they were incredible. I would love to see them back-to-back with Frightened Rabbit! 
I should note that by “SD,” I mean San Diego, not South Dakota
