The last stud-qualified son of the mighty What’s It Worth out of the multiple stakes producer Heart of Gold, Eighteen Karat is a strapping plain bay who excelled as a turf router but also landed two important 3YO dirt route races - the Belmont Stakes (G1) and the Santa Anita Derby (G1).

Eighteen Karat boasts five speed records, all on turf from 10-12 furlongs. He blossomed as a three-year-old and carried his form successfully for another year. His dirt record is respectable - victory in a 3YO classic race is nothing to sneeze at - but he is better suited for turf-loving mares. He’s a towering, rangy horse at 17 hands so if you want some size, he is definitely worth checking out. He is also one of the few Worth stallions not bred on the Worth/Rogue cross, so he will make a great option for an extended Worth/Rogue cross.
