Random shipping question...

This really isn’t important but I was just curious.

Does flying a horse take less energy since it’s quicker and presumably the horse wouldn’t be traveling for as long (like only 2 days instead of 4)? I’m assuming it doesn’t, but just wondering?

It depends…long road trips are harder on horses than short air trips, but short air trips are worse than short road trips.

Oh ok, makes sense

Now we just need to figure out what’s considered a “long road trip” versus a “short road trip,” etc. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well I’m guessing flying from the US to Australia would be a long trip. Flying from Florida to New York (which I just did ::) ) isn’t the best idea. lol

Ohhhh. That makes sense. Durrrr Moochi  ::) hehe :]

Unless I’m trying to save on money, anything that’d take more than 2 days on the road I typically will ship via plane.  I figure even if it tires them out a little bit more, they’ll have 2 extra days to do nothing and recover energy.

As a strict rule, I take the fastest trip to the track (less travel time for the horse). Then I usually take the longest trip back to the farm.
