This year has been the year of the colts for sure! Depending on how our last foaling goes, we could have twice as many colts as fillies. I certainly hope there are a couple stud prospects in there.
This lovely morning was marked by two lovely colts that are quite nearly identical dark grey colts, though they are in no way related.
The smallest of the two, [color=blue]Lucid Dreams is an exciting prospect. He is by One Lucky Soul and out of our Stakes mare Contemptable Dream.
The larger colt, who shouldn’t end up monster sized when he’s fully grown, is called [color=blue]Ampersand. He is by Belanso and out of Smooth Charm.
Thank you both. I’m glad the names are well received, just as I’d hoped. I love John Green. Have either of you ever watched Vlogbrothers? It is the Youtube channel run by John and his brother Hank. It is fantastic and you should definitely check it out!
We are proud to announce that we have delivered our last foal! We made the entire season without a single mare or foal fatality or stillbirth, touch wood.
Though his name is currently being chosen, I’ve narrowed it down toGoat Rodeo or Haunt. Alas, deciding is hard. But he is a healthy, happy grey colt with no markings. This boy is out of one of our favorite mares, Here’s To Luck, and he is also the last foal in Galaxy’s Zodiac’s first foal crop. Exciting prospects for this boy I hope! Well once he has a name that is!
I wish everyone the best in the rest of the late foalings!
Thank you I think I’ve settled on Haunt since it’s plain and simple, but still stands out. And this season was really lucky, which I was grateful for since seasons past have been less so. Good luck in advance for next season.
