I finally had time to handicap, but I couldn’t figure out the Chicago system you’ve all been talking about - where do you see how fast the first furlong of a horse’s most recent race was? Is using the SF just as effective?

To use Chicago’s system, you have to open the horse’s page, view the races for the year, scroll to the bottom, and look at the fractions. For example, if you look at Black Magic Master in race 35, you’ll see that the opening fraction of his win today was 31.995, and the opening fraction of his last race was 36.995. Basically you put your top 3 picks in order based on fastest, next fastest, third fastest (so 28.995, 29.495, 31.995 for example). Hope that helps!
I use a version of that system where I take the average of their 3 most recent races, but apart from that, it works the same as Chicago’s system. It doesn’t take much longer to figure out than just using the most recent race. I have been averaging just under $12k since I switched to this system.

I’ve consistently sucked the 2nd week of the month this month & last, so I think I’ll try your system, Starfish, the 2nd week of next month.
