Golden Princess has passed away at the ripe old age of 18 today. She certainly left her mark with us here at CDS.
Golden Princess had a short lived racing career in 2002 as a 2yo. She only started 3 times but still managed to break her maiden and finish on the board 100%. She had her first foal in 2005 and didn’t look back including a set of twins in 2010 who both went on to be multi-stake winner millionaires. She is out of RDC mare Pink Princess and apparently early owners didn’t keep good records back then and lost her sire’s name. Her most notable foals to date are:
NCh. Irish Gold - Bred and owned by CDS and currently standing stud at Iron Spur. His 2yo’s will start next year.
Ch. Opulent - Irish Gold’s twin. She is a MSW as well and millionaire having won 2 G1 stakes races.
Ch. Daily Special - MSW and multi-millionaire. She is the 2015 Breeders Cup SC Classic winner.
Ch. Scrooge - Given his sparse racing history being owned by FF I wish I would have gotten my hands on him early on. He literally is on the board 100% of the time in 6 years of racing and just won a stakes race this year at the age of 10. Would have been nice to see what this boy could have done under a private stables silks.
Shanthi, is there any way FF would want to rid it’s self of an old gelding???
All in all she has produced 100% winners in 10 racing foals(her 2012 Giant Causeway filly was lost due to complications). Six on them are Stake Winners and 3 of them muti stake winning millionaires.
The yearling and weanlings will miss this momma’s presences in the pastures and we here at CDS wish her a grand farewell. Rest in peace old girl.
