I’m only now getting in to look at the new Beta Site and I love what I’m seeing so far. I think this is brilliant and especially the fact that the racehorses records show their Current Years Racing Record as well as their Overall Racing Record.
I just have a couple of questions:-
On the individual horses page, what are EI & AEI? I presume that EI is Earnings Index for a particular year and AEI is Average Earnings Index for the horses lifetime, but how are they calculated?
On the Stable page under Horses, when you click on Racehorses, Stallions, etc, nothing happens. Obviously they aren’t set up yet. Will they allow you to isolate a particular group of horses, e.g. Racehorses only, Stallions only, etc. rather than seeing all horses grouped together?
On the Stable page under Horses, will we be able to change the size of the “window”? Currently it is set to show 10 horses at a time but I wondered if we could be given the option to change this, maybe use a drop down list with, say, 10, 25, 50, which would then “set” the size of the “window” - this would/could be reset back to the default (10?) every time we went to this screen or changed Category of horse to, say, Stallion?
From what I’ve seen so far, I can’t wait for this to go live. Great job.
EI is the horse’s annual earnings compared to the average for its age/gender. So if your horse Joe earns 20k as a 3yo, and all the 3yo colts that year averaged 10k for the year, Joe’s EI for the year is 2.0 (2x the average). AEI is the average of all of Joe’s EIs.
You have to click the refresh button on the far right. You can toggle each filter as you like, so if you want to view Racehorses and Weanlings, select those two. Or just stallions if you only want to see them. Then click the refresh icon and the list should change.
Perhaps. I set it at 10 so that the page isn’t crazy long, but that could be customizable.
I had issues figuring that out, originally, too.
Maybe the toggle button could be made to be more clear, saying something like “reload” or “refresh”, or an icon to make it clear?
Shanthi, just a thought since we’re talking filters… would we be able to set default preferences? e.g. When I log in, I only want the racehorses filter toggled by default but you might want to have the broodies and the racehorses toggled by default, etc…
For those who are not as computer-savvy as our wonderful admin, here’s how you clear your cache. I’m sharing this because I didn’t know, and had to look it up on google.
I tried it just now and it is fantastic. I really love being able to see my horses Current Years Racing Records as well as their overall Racing Records.
