Very new to the game and very much like the look of it
But
The problem discussed in the topic below ‘Fitness’ still seems to exist with me in that both Energy/ Fitness are varying wildly every time they are checked and of 13 Workout sessions over the last 3 days 12 have resulted in the jockey losing control someway or other.
In the Help section I did find a Bug Reporting button but that just results in me being logged out; so I did try contacting Shanthi by e:mail.
Don’t particularly want to just quit as the game appeals strongly.
I have withdrawn my only entry from its race, as at the time it was A/F so it seemed to be inviting an injury.
Hoping if I sit tight for a week and do nothing, the problem if it is general will be rectified.
If there is another route for reporting Bugs; is someone could advise me I would be grateful
Actually, energy is much more indicative of whether a horse will get injured or not. A horse with little or no energy will pretty much be guaranteed to hurt himself. Fitness is more along the lines of how long he’ll take to recover energy (and some horses regain energy faster than others). To be honest, I tend to ignore Fitness.
Some variation is normal. If your horse’s “real” energy value is a “B”, you can get readings of either “C” or “A”, because they’re one derivation from “B.” That’s not a bug. If your getting readings of “A” and then “F”, that’s a bug and should be reported (you have to register with the bug reporting website…it’s not tied in to FF via your FF login, but you can make them the same thing).
I’ve been trying to figure out the fitness thing too. I’ve been working the horses the suggested training way on the FAQ and yet my horses fluctuate so much in their fitness. And almost always Fs. I had one to A/A for a whole day and now she isn’t doing well either, although her comments are almost always positive.
Very confusing to me.
There was a bug related to fitness that was fixed. Horses energy/fitness levels are probably going to be wacky as I’m assuming the values weren’t put back to what they were before the bug. Hope that made sense. I might be wrong but I believe that is the problem.
Appreciate the helpful comments above regarding the Energy/Fitness factors. Anybody any thoughts regarding the training and the fact that all but one workout resulted in the jockey losing control?
I’m more of an observer and don’t post often on these forums, but I wanted to chime in as I’ve noticed several people seem to be really stressing about the fitness and training issues.
I started out about a year ago, and would religiously train my horses, but I’ve learned it doesn’t really make a difference – I rarely train anymore, and all of my horses have won or been successful with D/F fitness levels. Maybe I’ve just been lucky or something, but my suggestion is to use training just as a way to learn about your horse in the beginning. You said the jockey loses control almost every time – the horse may just not like that particular jockey, or need an equipment adjustment. One of my horses had negative workouts every single time out, and did poorly in her races. I added a shadow roll to her, and her workout result instantly changed and she’s won 4 races in a row since. Fiddle around with different settings and see if that changes the outcome
As takeachance said, this could be caused by:
- the horse not liking the jockey
- the horse needing different quipment
also by…
- the horse having too much energy and/or fitness (even with loving the jock + perfect equipment)
You’re welcome to keep fiddling or you can just toss your horse in a race. Training is meant to be more of an “optional” feature…if you want to use it, you can, and will (eventually, once the horse/jock know each other) get some useful info from your jock about the horse (equipment likes/dislikes, running style, etc). If you don’t want to use it, that’s fine, too, your horses can still win.
Thanks for clearing that up!!!
My filly won her race!!! Yay!!! My first win!!
