October Slump?

Hello All!

I was curious if anyone was having a similar start to October: My horses are suddenly bombing when they are well rested and have been performing all year? Is this a common occurrence? I know there is ebb and flow among success but to go from a good summer with 50%+ finishing in the money to now where placing in anything is rough seems odd and I wonder what I’ve done wrong with them.

Well, most of my horses are at the home farm but the “fresher” ones that ran last race day and today all finished out of the money. It’s a pretty rough start to the month and I might just send them all home, too.

I hope it’s this, or I should retire them  but it’s my worst year ever…

My slump is usually January/February but my ponies definitely haven’t been doing as well the past few weeks.

I’ve actually been doing fairly well this month: 13 of 16 horses hit the board 10/5, 7 of 9 on 10/8, and 7 of 11 on 10/01 but those were mostly 3rd/4th finishes. Now, as for my stakes kids…lets not talk about them. It’s like we hit BC qualifier season and everyone bombed.
