[NOT A BUG] BC Nominations - foals vs. sire status

I wasn’t sure how to title this topic. I just discovered if I go to Special Races > Race Nominations > Breeders’ Cup, I can nominate any of my weanlings for the BC but several are by stallions who were nominated in 2022, so their 2023 foals should be fine. For example, Bastille can be nominated for 5k to the BC, but when I go to Breeding > BC Stallion Nominations, his sire Straticus shows as having been nominated last year. Similarly, French Ruby has been nominated every year since 2020, but all his weanlings so far this year can be nominated.

Not sure if bug, or I’m being terribly stupid somewhere lol.

Nominating the sire allows for discounted nomination of the following year’s crop as weanlings. If the sire is not nominated, you have to pay the supplemental nomination fee of $250k. (Or $150k if you didn’t nominate for 5k as a weanling.)

So yup, stupid. My brain had “free” in my brain for nominated stallion foals. Sorry! :sweat_smile:
