No Duplicate Pensioned

No Duplicate, KindleHope’s foundation stallion, has regretfully been pensioned from stallion duty due to increasing complications with arthritis. He managed to cover his largest book of mares in 2013 after undergoing arthrodesis surgery last fall, but our main priority is to keep him happy and comfortable to prolong his quality of life.  This is a huge blow to KindleHope’s breeding efforts, but he has some great champions and incredibly bred progeny yet to race.

With 11 crops to date and only 31 of racing age, No Duplicate established his reputation as an improvement sire despite his small crops, and managed to maintain it throughout his entire career in FF. He has over $8.3 million in progeny earnings, with an average of $270k per starter and consistently stayed in the top 1/4 of FF studs. All his foals from crops 2004-2009 are Stakes Placed or better.

Sire of MSW and turf millionaire, NCh. Duplicate Copy; MSW dirt sprinter, Ch. Not Very Nice; steeplechasing stakes winner, Ch. Unparalleled, MSW miler, Ch. Up To No Good, juvenile MSW, Not For Love and promising juvenile SP, Exotic Dreamer.  Broodmare Sire of Ch. Truth or Dare and Ch. Whispering Embers.

We’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of his final crop in 2014, and are keeping our fingers crossed for a stud-qualified son.

Oh, bummer, No Duplicate was a favorite of mine.  At least he’s still in good health, and hopefully one of his sons will get stud-qualified.

Thanks, Shanthi… You know I’ve been crossing my fingers!

I chose him to breed one of my mares to because he was such a solid sire, and I hope the resulting foal kicks butt on the track just for him,  ;D
