New Stallions in 2016?

As the breeding season winds down, my thoughts turn to next year.  I know it’s still early, but if you do know that you will be retiring your stallion next year, please post below. I’d love a link and whatever information you would like to share about your boy.

I’m only interested in hearing about stallions who will be entering their FIRST season in 2016.

Thanks!

If he doesnt bounce back, I will be retiring One Lucky Soul next year to stud - He was the 2013 2yo colt, placed in the Derby and Preakness last year, and won the Dubai World Cup this year - finalfurlong.org/viewhorse.php?horse=4850

I’m No Fool will possibly retire to stud. He’ll have the following restrictions - GCh+ mares OR Gold / Platinum rated mares.

Jason, will these restriction ever be relaxed?

Definitely - the year after. But I want his first crop to be a good one.

Belanso will enter stud for the Grey Stable in the coming year. The 12 time stakes winner with 10 of those on dirt will have a fee of $10,000 for his first year. There will be no restrictions as to whom or what can be bred to him.

NCh. Demand the Best will most likely stand next year.  He’s my first homebred to qualify to stand at stud.

My What’s It Worth son [color=blue]Eighteen Karat will be going to stud next year. He’s my stable’s first studified horse ever, so I’m pretty excited (and nervous, like oh god do I have all the right mares for him???). He’s out of a Mr. Prospector mare, so it should be interesting.  He won the Santa Anita Derby, the Belmont Stakes, and the Breeders’ Stakes in 2013 and a host of Grade 3s as a 4YO. So far his 5YO season’s been rocky at best but he’s picking it up after a long layoff. He’s a turfer who likes a route of ground but did admirably enough on the dirt as a 3YO.

Will be looking for Highland Rogue-line mares for his first season,

Now that we’re further into the year, any updates to this? And does anyone have a clue on their stud fees?

I love breeding season, despite the fact it sucks the bank account like none other.  ;D

Belanso will retire and stand stud at The Grey Stable. He is mostly a dirt runner for distances 10f and under but he has also won on the turf. He will probably stand for $5000 on a first come first serves basis.

Demand the Best will probably be the usual introductory 6k.  DC’s will probably get bumped up to 10k, since he does have a couple SWs and a MSW as 2yos.

We are thinking about retiring Irish Gold to stud next year if he looks like he has lost interest in the first couple months next year.  He will be standing at Iron Spur if retired and will be the only other Irish River stallion besides my own Carrowmore.

Whoo for another Irish River boy!

I’m excited for this  Any idea on a potential intro fee if he does retire? I would love to get some more Irish River in my herd (because I own 1 horse out of 160 related to him, haha).

I think holly said he will stand at the same price as his sibling, we have not completely worked it all out as she wasn’t sure when he would come off track.

Two of mine will be venturing to stud for the 1st time

Cant Touch This - finalfurlong.org/viewhorse.php?horse=9998 Sprinter who won on both Turf & Dirt, twice winner of the Dubai Golden Shaheen. Has never raced outside of group company!

Dr Evil - finalfurlong.org/viewhorse.php?horse=3133 3 time Eclipse award winner, 7 time Grp 1 winner … Arc, Japan Cup etc

Both boys will stand around the $10k mark

Dang it why do you have to be all the way in OZ? I like the looks of both your guys but I definitely can’t afford the shipping!

Fo shizzle! I was worried when Irish River first retired b/c there were none.  Now at least we have a couple to carry on the legacy.

That’s correct. Until either of the stallions are able to prove themselves will they differ in price.  Both Carrowmore and Irish Gold will remain the same stud fee.

YAY!  I’m psyched to see him qualified. Rare lines and I own his 1/2 sis.

Re my previous post, I’m No Fool will be standing his first year at $30,000 LFG, BC nom’d etc, and mares must be NCH+ and/or Gold/Platinum rated.
