New Horse ^-^ Yay!

I brought my new colt home

today! Hes a 3.5 year old gelding. 15.2h and growing still. He was orphaned as a 4 month old,

and the person who took him in after that knew nothing about horses, so his lines were lost

and he isnt reg. He was also a bit of a neglect case because of the lack of knowledge, but

the people I bought him from did a good job of fixing him up. Hes a nice looking colt, not

afraid of anything, and very people friendly. When he sees a person he runs up as fast as he

can. I don’t have pics today, but I should have them tomorrow if anyone wants to see. And

merry christmas everyone

Congrats, he sounds cute.

Good Luck with your new horse

and Merry Christmas!

what a christmas gift! yeah,

i’m still working on getting a horse to magically appear in my back yard…

Indeed, good luck with him.

He sounds like he’ll be fun to work with.

And to the rest of us who didn’t get horses

for Christmas, Merry Christmas anyway .

Well it seems we’re having

trouble getting the camera to upload the pics onto the computer. We just got a new comp and

we’re still trying to figure it out -_-. Anyhow, hes about the shade that Charismatic was.

He has one sock on his right hind, and a nice little strip that also reminds me of

Charismatic lol, just more connected towards the bottom, and straight instead of going off to

the side. He’s got a pretty nice dish in his face, head neck and legs like an arab. He moves

pretty much like one too, but hes got a sturdier body.

I got a few pics online now,

from Christmas Eve. I just gave him a bath today, so hopefuly tomorrow when he’s all shined

up I’ll get some body shots. We can play ‘guess that breed’ lol. These pictures are rather

crappy, it was freezing cold, the wind was blowing, Trickster was upset from the trailering

exp and all, and I had been up since some ungodly hour in the morning and I just wanted to go

get some sleep. But hey, they give you a good idea of his face

<a

href=‘http://atlas.walagata.com/w/majinryoko/IMAG0026.JPG’ target=’_blank’>First Pic

front head shot, makes his face look alot more unrefined, too thick. He’s actualy got a

pretty narrow face.

<a href=‘http://atlas.walagata.com/w/majinryoko/IMAG0024.JPG

target=’_blank’>Second Pic more of a side head shot, I had this one taken to show my

friend the dish, but it didnt show up as well as I had hoped.

I rode my colt yesterday btw

^-^ It was the first time he’s ever been ridden and he acted like a pro. He’s got a huge

walk on him, I cant wait to see his other gaits.

Very cute little guy.

(Though given that he’s taller than my girl, I suppose “little” is relative :stuck_out_tongue: He’s also a

year older, though.)

Hrm. Looks suspiciously like

a Quarab to me…but I could be wrong

I dunno about Quarab, I’ve

worked with stock horses, mainly QH and Paint for years and years and looking at his body, I

just can’t see it. He’s got a pretty narrow chest and his hindquarters, just not quite

right. He does have a nice barrel to him, but with the other evidence I just don’t see much

stock horse in him.

Maybe Anglo-Arab, though?

That’d give him a bit more bulk/height.

:astonished: Now there is an idea that

I never thought of! You know what’s weird about that, just yesterday my best friend was

watching me lead him and she goes ‘he looks a like a TB from over here’ So there’s a

possibility

Mkay people, I’m getting

stuck on names. So how’s about we vote on this. He’s going to have Trickster in there,

because he just IS one. So…

Trickster
or
Trickster’s Choice I had it down to

these two but I just can’t think of which one I like the best.

I’d vote for Trickster,

personally. You could also go with:

Trick or Treat
Ultimate Trickster

Just going off his head I’d

say Saddlebred-Arab is another possibility… his head reminds me of that from the front…

just another popular Arab cross . But he is adorable, makes me think of Lyric when he was

little and less fuzzy… sigh

Cute name, Trickster. Even better that it fits him

Yay! My colt has moved up in

the world of riding horses . He was having trouble (again) with taking the bit so I could

ride him. I went to the John Lyons website and some people there were nice enough to help me

out. So today when I managed to get the bridle on him without having to hold him AND while

his head was down, I rode him. It turns out that while I was trying to get him used to leg

pressure, he learned that a light sqeeze means walk. And he learned the rein cues that I

never taught him. And I had some light contact on the bit today, VERY light, and he kept his

neck level and put his nose almost on the verticle. Not trying to escape the pressure, just

holding it where I wanted him to. He’s going to make a riding horse after all ^-^

that would be so much fun.

I wish i had a horse to work with. Congratualtions on your advancement!

Ok. I managed to get a body

shot of him. He’s dirty, so dont say anything :stuck_out_tongue: I can see that he’s dirty and it bothers

me. This was taken right after his first ride without someone leading him around, and right

when he was trying to bite me. I figure it can help in the Guess That Breed game. My farrier

swears up and down that Romeo is thoroughbred. He’s way out of shape because he’s so green

broke, but it gives a nice view at least.

I decided to name him <a

href=‘http://atlas.walagata.com/w/majinryoko/charismatictricksterbody.jpg

target=’_blank’>Charismatic Trickster because when I first saw him I thought of

Charismatic the racehorse. Just something, they certainly don’t look much alike. And also

because he is rather charismatic  Enjoy
