Thank you guys. Today was very emotional for me. I really miss having her around. You really don’t realize it day by day, but our pets are extremely important to us. I am sad that I can not have her around anymore, but happy that she didn’t have to go through misery with her health issues. We make decisions every day, but this was one of the most difficult I have ever had to make. This will be a very rough week for me. 
Do you have any special pictures of her? I turned the best picture of my mare, Java, into my forum avatar. (It was taken about a month before she died, and was the biggest jump we’d ever done.)
Anyway, I find that something like that (a small, subtle memorial) is nice…I can think of her every time I see my posts. It’s also one of the better pictures I could’ve chosen - she was healthy when it was taken, she LOVED jumping that big, and it was of the two of us together doing something we enjoyed.
Sorry for babbling…your tribute site will likely achieve the same effect (except better, because people will know what it’s about 
)…I guess my point is that, given enough time, it is possible to think of them fondly (and without pain). I definitely still have bad days, and nightmares where I relive her last 24 hours (which were in great pain, obviously, with a broken leg), but for the most part, I’m just very thankful for the time that we got to spend together.

I’m not very motivated to do much right now, but I will be making her tribute site very soon. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions for me. One minute I’ll be laughing thinking of all the good times. The next I’ll be sad cause she’s not here to greet me. Anyway I will definately post the tribute site on here as soon as I finish it. Once again, thank you all for your wonderful coments, it makes the day a bit easier to get through.
