Not a human baby but a baby all the same. His name is Marley and my husband and I saved him from the livestock auction. We originally went there to purchase a couple of goats for brush demolition and walked out with a tiny baby pig. We’ve had him for about 4 days now and he’s doing great. Eating, pooping, sleeping, and cuddling. Here are some pics I took of him for spring time.
OMG!!! SOOOOOOO cute
I think my heart just melted. How big will he get?
OMG teh cute!!
I adore the pic of him in the sneaker… SO cute.
How absolutely darling is he! ;D
lol…he thanks you guys. We just finished breakfast and are waiting on a poop.
He should get at least 50 lbs I would think. But not sure since I never saw his parents. It’ll be an adventure for sure.
Awww!!! He’s adorable!!!
Well, we had some diarrhea today. Not good. We are trying a bit of cottage cheese and see if it helps. He still has good appetite and good spirits so hopefully on the road to a healthy youngster. It’s so sad somebody took him away from his momma so early. And just FYI I’m finding it’s hard to hold a sleeping baby pig and type. LOL!
The last photo is adorable. He is such a cutie!
awwwwwwwwwww too cute, i have raised lots of dif baby animals by hand and its a LOT of work but so worth it, here is something u might want to try , get the science diet dry puppy food, then soak it in warm water til it swells up but is not too mushy, i raised a baby mockingbird who fell from a tree on this for his first few months, it has all the vitamins etc , babies need . you may need to hand feed it but it helped a lot with the digestive problems. good luck and hes a sweetie!!!
Well, Marley didn’t make it through the night. He deteriorated so quickly and non of the vets around here would see him. We tried antibiotics, electrolytes, and tried righting his digestive tract. Little guy passed in my arms this morning about 8am. Rest in Peace Marley, I love you…
I’m so sorry!!! he was such a cutie and he will be missed. At least he knew love and compassion before he passed- left at the auction, he def wouldn’t have. You are a good person and did an amazing thing by little Marely. HUGS!!!
Aww… poor little guy. At least his last few days were good ones.
Agreed. He was a very, very lucky little piglet to find so much love in his little life.
Thank you so much. We buried him this morning in the field across from our house so he can see our house and look out over the field. I gave him his bear and little WVU outfit I made for him when we watched the final four. He’ll forever be in our thoughts and prayers.
Oh no. I’m so sorry that he couldn’t pull through. You definitely did your best by him, though.
so sorry i know how you feel holding them like that, and he at least had love and tenderness in his last hours, that is the best thing he could have had, and he is now in piggy heaven playing with all the other beloved pets that wait to greet us when we eventually go there ,hugs hope you feel better.
I’m so sorry to hear that! At lease he had lots of love in the final days of his too short life. He was such a cutie!
