I keep waiting for these guys to grow up and they seem to never do it - I haven’t even started training them. My question is, what would you do? Is it possible that they will not reach the minimum height, never ever?
I think I read somewhere that expected height is only a guide and they can be an inch or two above or below the expected range. Personally, I’d start some light training with them and see how they go.
Expected height is a really dumb calculation - average of parents +/- 2 inches either way.
I think the breeding code does the same thing, but I think it also takes into account breeding power, so that could skew things one way or another. Also, premature babies can have their adult height stunted from what their genetics say. So yes, a horse could definitely never reach what the pedigree page says it should do.
