I wanted to share pictures of my new horse (my first). His name is Moose and he is a yearling quarter horse gelding that I hope will mature to 16 hands, although I prefer 17.2 I know that is a little unrealistic . I have plans to start him lightly under saddle next summer until then he will be in ground work boot camp.
Pictures can be seen on photo bucket until I can figure out pictures on the forum.
He is cute!! I have to have resques because my parents can not afford 50,000 dolar horses! I have to be good at looking through to the frame and not the skinny boys they really are! good luck with him!
By the way… I love this horse, he is alot more stunning in person, and like his half sister (my mare), photos do not do them justice. I told Roo (my sister-in-law) if she didn’t like Moose, I’d trade her for my horse… but Annie won’t be near as big as Moose will be. He’s sucha cutie too, and really has the potiental to bond up strong with his rider.
This is Moose’s half sister, Annie. They share the same sire - Final Conquest by Dash for Cash. Annie is a year older than Moose and will be 3 coming the New Year.
Lckychrm, I dont have the money for a $50,000 horse either, hence why i dont have a horse that is rideable. But I also got him as a gift basically. I went this summer to with Sarah’s aunt and uncle on their ranch in ND. In return they gave him to me and droped him off on their move to MD.
Thanks for putting up the pics Sarah.
I have plans for him to do eventing when he grows up. I like his conformation and hope he fills out and matures as nicely as Sarah’s Annie. The best thing about the Final Conquest foals is their temperment. They are very sweet and personable. Although Moose has this thing where he likes to put his butt in your face which Im trying to break him of. Kinda scary b/c its a kicking horse behavior but I think he just wants a good scratch, crazy horse. Both of these horses are also very willing. We hadnt seen Annie for about a month and we put a bit in her mouth (first time) and I got on her. She had no problems.
Annie used to do the whole butt in the face thing… she stopped doing it once she learned I was the boss. That’s probably why he’s doing it… you’re not “boss lady” fully yet. He’ll get over it. Remember all the well aimed kicks at my head that Annie tried to pull the first week I got her? lmao Well she doesn’t do that anymore…
I love Moose’s name His coloring is gorgeous, and so is Annie’s. Moose is NOT ugly! He’ll fill out soon and you’ll have yourself a heck of a heartbreaker on your hands!
Wow! hes only a yearling? Makes our yearlings look small But you could honostally start saddling him! and letting him get used to it! Hes a beautiful horse! With that dash for cash he could become a kick butt barrel horse:p Just my opinion
I will be waiting till he is at least 2 to start him under saddle probablly more like 2 1/2. What type of horses do you breed? Are you experienced with barrels. I may be interested in doing some barrels eventually. Poor guy gets to do whatever I feel like doing.
Yes, I’m just saying tacking him and letting him play and get used to it How is his bottom side? We breed Quarter Horses We have mostly reining and cutting bred horses, and a reiner stallion (by the Hollywood Dun It {Oh Yeah i know what your thinking })
I have a really fast barrel horse, so makes me think of the dash for cash Our neighbor trains barrelers, and she has a son of dash for cash thats a kick butt barrel stallion
How embarassing. lol. I thought bottom side was a weird way to say it. His dam is Ashas Viking and I unfortunately do not have the name of her sire. I should be getting the papers back in the mail soon. I had his full sisters pedigree but I cannot find it. I will post itas soon as I can find it.
