Misc Updates

I need a place to announce minor things / tweaks.

If you click on any of the “Your stable had <x> horses race on <y date>” links on your stable page, the dates previous to that will not be shown.

Similarly, if you click on the “Your stable has x new foals” link, it should update to only show you foals born from that date forward. (You may need to click on the specific date buttons at the top of the foal list, if you didn’t have any foals born on/around that exact day.)

I’ve added training / breeding stats to stable pages. I plan to re-implement the full list (though the training one is already available via the top-right menu for your stable - but not available to view anyone else’s stable stats) at some point.

All of the pagination links should be gone. If you scroll down it should load more data without having to click on a link.

Training Schedules
I’m going to start by saying how much I love the ability to see which horses are set up for different schedules, however, I do have one comment about it.

When you had the pagination for this section, I found it quite easy to maneuver to find a particular horse. You would get 20 horses on each page, so it wasn’t too difficult to figure out which horse was on which page (some trial and error but not a major hardship).

With the pagination removed, I’m having to wade through 300+ horses to find the one whose schedule I want to change, and, if I wanted to change more than one, I would have to scroll through them all again for each horse. Especially if I wanted to do “Add Schedule” for a horse, those are always at the end of the list. With the pagination, I would look at the number of “Horses Assigned”, divide that number by 20 and would know which page to start looking at to add a horses to that particular schedule.

How difficult would it be to code it so that we could switch a horses schedule without having to Remove the current schedule and Add a different one? I have 128 2YOs and have a separate schedule for them as opposed to the older horses. As it stands right now, at the end of the year, I’ll have to remove the schedules from all of them, then search through the Older Horses Schedule to find all of the 2YOs and add them.

One other thing. The Search feature at the top of the page doesn’t seem to be working, it won’t let me enter a horses name. If that was working, it would make it so much easier as I wouldn’t have to potentially scroll through 300+ horses to find the one whose schedule I want to change.

I have on my to-do list the ability to see a horse’s schedule from their page, as well as modify it. Also potentially flag certain schedules for certain types, so it would auto-assign, but I haven’t figured out how many permutations I want for that. (e.g. you could flag a schedule as 2yo only, jumper only, maybe one for horses entered to race, maybe one for horses within x days of their last race, etc. Though if you had all those I’m not sure how precedence would work, which is why I haven’t started on it)

Hooking up the top search bar is also on the to-do list.

@Starfish this is live. It’ll search for horses + stables. I want to make it fancier, but for now it seems to function. You can press enter after you’ve typed, or just wait 1/2 second and it’ll search for you.
