I noticed on my training summary that I have horses that bounced back from racing yesterday to have A or B energy ratings today. I know there is some variability but it seems a little extreme. Maybe they just decided they were just not going to expel any energy yesterday in their lackluster efforts? (they were all the horses that didn’t run too well) Or maybe a bug?
Haha, same thing happened to me! Mistico Cigano ran on the 24th, and by the 27th he was A-B. He did get a stakes win though, so hopefully that’s telling me that he didn’t have to try very hard to win? Probably not, but I’d like to think that, anyways .
I’ve tweaked energy/fitness numbers for racing…they were artificially deflated (as in, racing cost less energy) from testing, and have now been adjusted…more adjustments may be necessary, but we’ll see how things go.
Horses stuck in the F energy world. What am I doing wrong? I’ve got horses that haven’t raced since the 3rd,
Seattles Hope I just walked 1M on the 11th which shouldn’t have taken up much energy at all. Along with Wavering Love. I took and had a bunch of my horses have a day of walking. Some I did a short breeze with, others were just walking and trotting. There are some that are ligitmatly at an F rating as they raced recently. I know there is a margin of error, I know I’m supposed to use common sense, which to me makes more sense when you can see the horse. But I’m getting down to having no horses I can race since we have also been cautioned about racing a horse with D and F energy. I can’t even ship my horses home right now because they have F energy, and the natural energy thing has me Buggin (ok lame movie word but what can I say).
My horses have had a hard time keeping a balance between energy and fitness. It seems that if I let them rest after races to regain energy, they lose fitness, but if I work them for fitness they lose energy. I’m not saying it’s an energy bug, it’s probably something I’m doing, but it’s kind of got me stumped.
One question, however- if I set up a training schedule for a horse, could there be a button for me to push to just “deactivate” the training schedule, and then manually activate it later? I hate making one and then just deleting it when I don’t want my horse to be worked anymore. It would be nice to just be able to hit “pause” and then restart it when the horse has more energy.
When I worked them out they had a good energy level, then suddenly they are at F without reason. I do not workout my horses at all unless they have a C or better rating, and the last time I ran through and worked out my horses most of them were at a Walk! Which wouldn’t use that much energy.
If you throw an unfit horse into a very long race15f+ then theoretically that horse would take longer to recover than the same horse put into a long race while fit…right? Just trying to figure out why some of my horses are bouncing back fast and others not so fast…I think it has to do with who was worked out more prior to their race…
Unfit horses lose more energy than fit horses. Races that are run fast (time-wise) or longer than a horse’s stamina will take more energy out of a horse.
